    • My problem with B Smith is not his ability, though he’s yet to prove that he’s a better dummy half than back rower. But that’s not his fault at this stage though as the injuries haven’t given him much of a chance. My problem with him is his character. He just says some dumb things and doesn’t seem to have any awareness or filter. You can get away with that in Melbourne as the media genuinely couldn’t care less about the Storm but you can’t in Sydney.

      • Like I keep saying, Brandon Smith is a good player and will always add to the value of a footy team he's apart of. We will get patches of good footy from him and despite his antics, the bloke hasn't strung 5 games together.

You can say you don't like him but you can't accuse him of not having a go, the bloke has had broken ribs, broken thumb and a neck stinger all in the first 10-12 weeks of his career with us. If he is still gassing up after 10mins and stifling our attack after 30-40 games and acting like a goose off the field, then we can start saying he can farrk off and he's the worst buy in history. For now, he deserves time.

This I agree with. I like that he isn't a media robot and he's a little different but at the same time, you can't just act like a larrikin 24/7 and say and do stupid shit. Especially when you aren't performing well on the field.

He lacks self-awareness and a filter. I have no doubt he loves the Storm and Bellamy, but he disrespected the f-ck out of them doing that podcast by talking about all of his negotiations with clubs, revealing secrets about their culture and then saying he wanted to win a comp with us, all the while playing for them, a direct rival for another season. Just strange behaviour. I couldn't believe Melbourne didn't tell him to farrk off the moment that pod came out. He must be a good bloke, just a bit of a goose with no self-awareness.

You could argue since that podcast come out, he hasn't played his best footy for a range of reasons. One being injury for us, but keep in mind he was quite underwhelming the last year of his Melbourne career. Barely played 25mins off the bench for them and got a 4 game ban for calling ref a cheat. He just needs to keep his head down and avoid the Beau Ryan syndrome of making media your day job and struggling on the field.

          • I'm happy for The Cheese to be the games biggest larrikin as long as he performs on the field.

Currently his salary doesn't reflect his output. Smith is potentially a dud signing who's earning twice as much as Sam Verrills. Big mistake letting Sam go imo.

I thought the Smith signing was a knee jerk reaction to the pressure the club has been put under especially since the implementation of the 6 again rule which they still use to keep us out of contention.

These days we hardly receive any yet we conceded 7 penalties in the first 20 minutes against the sharks.

                Cmon.

I can't blame the Roosters for wanting to fit in the best when marquee players come on the market.

However Verills was good for the money and had actually done his part in our premiership success. I don't buy the "but he was injured alot" as that's the nature of the sport and look at all the other long term injuries to players in our system the last few years.

The extra money could have been used to strengthen the squad across the board, but in saying that, the Cheese is the direction they went in.

Therefore this guy has to deliver. Yes he's been injured (see above) and yes it takes time to gel in a new system.

He's on a LOT of coin and his attitude and body language so far through 3/4 of the season has got me personally disappointed in the guy.

That's not to say he won't come good. But it's too late for this season. Not too single him out as other players have not hit the mark as well for various reasons.

                Walker (development)
                Angus (???)
                Teddy (Fatigue)
Keary (Slowing down and no Cronk beside him)

I like difference and have said that many times before, we are all unique and different. But when you’re representing your employer whether it’s a football club or retailer, you do need to be professional and aware of potentially hurting the brand. It’s not about difference in this instance, but responsibility.

Sam V is extremely injury prone. Love his great service out of dummy half but you don’t get much value out of him.

Majority wanted him punted back to England

                      Look how that turned out
There’s members of this fan forum that were bagging out Brad Fittler 20 years ago and wanted him gone from the team as well

There’s not much bang for your buck with The Cheese.

4 cylinder motor with a 40 minute duty cycle and has already sat out a portion of the season through injury.

Is the lack of value for money just based on his injuries or his gameplay? Don't say both.

Either way he's on the Titans payroll, the cheese on ours.
