Hot take but if Collins is truly back to his pre-ACL playing levels then he’s the best prop in our squad.

I reckon the opposition would be fearing JWH a lot more than Collins.

If people were expecting or thinking that B Smith would be an 80 minute player they may need to think again - I think 50 odd minutes would be the optimum game time for maximum impact.

          B Smith is 94 Kgs 180 cm's and he did lose weight compared to Mahoney - 86 kg's and 175 cm's / Cook 88 kg's and 180 cm's / Koroisau 88kg's and 172 cm's / Grant 87 kg's and 175 cm's

Mahoney/Cook are regular 80 minute players as dummy halves and Grant will be playing more 80 minutes games

So does B Smith improve he stamina and lose some weight to get under 90 kgs in line with other comparable dummy halves to increase his game time ?
I would say he should lose some.

but with Turpin's performance, may be he doesnt need to?

"Based on views expressed on this forum" lol

I have no idea why peoples views from early on in this thread would change considering the injuries etc. I haven't go an opinion yet outside of lets see him string games together and do a proper off season. Did we hope for more, yes absolutley but that can be said about the entire squad.
Some of the rumour setc about Smith are concerning (only seen them on here) but I think he has a growth mindset and hope that bodes well for him and ultimately Easts!

God yeah...I'm heartened when the majority disagree with me, I know I must be on the right track!

Smith deserves longer time to adjust. Systems are clearly different between drizzle and roosters. He’s been injured most the season, even before the thumb. I think he is a class player and our team has played no better than Smith has. So I’m yet to throw him out like the media suggests. Hope he stays on the park for some consistent games

He needs more time. Injured for most of the season. Judge him after more games. He isn't the sort of hooker we need but doesn't mean he can't contribute positively. He's a good player.

Spot on. I actually thought he was ok the other night in his return. Especially considering all he did was tackle in the second half, cause we had no ball, after a long lay off.

The Verrills vs Smith horse has bolted, it’s time to move. I was team Verrills purely because of salary cap/roster management but I think Smith has a much higher ceiling and I hope he gets through the rest of the season unscathed.

The joking and laughing with the storm players after the game on saturday wasn't a good look.

I understand players have history and its an opportunity to catch up but there is a limit.

The team had to wait for him to join them in the sheds before Robbo could address the group.

He needs his head pulled in.

I don't think Easts splash out on big names for them to play 50 minutes.

If you don't mind me asking, what were those rumours?

I read in the paper that the playing group were unhappy with him but then that seemed to fade and was never mentioned again.
