Nothing matters more to The Roosters than beating South Sydney. They’ve had the better of us these last few seasons. They have embarrassed us. Last year they knocked us out of the comp.

Tonight we can turn our fortunes around. We need to control the emotion and channel the hate and beat them with our smarts. Let’s not be baited by them. Let’s play a very physical game and not get frustrated by their grubby tactics and their laying down.

Let’s regain our authority over that rubbish club and play the style of footy that makes us all proud. Let’s smash those inferior maggots and dent the hopes of their filthy fans.

This is a MASSIVE game.

I don't care if it's only rnd 3. No more "building into the season" bullshit. That didn't work last year and it won't work in 2023.

It's time to beat Souffs with a simple, yet ruthless style of footy. Just hammer them up the guts and with relentless line speed ala Penrith. And then our star backs will take advantage of that hard work down the stretch.

No boneheaded penalties. No forced passes leading to errors. Just be clinical and we can win.

Hammer Latrell and Cody - Latrell likes to rough people up and rub them the wrong way but do it him he goes quiet. Cody just loses the plot and karate kicks people.

Agree re Burgess as well. He does give them plenty of momentum in attack and partic defence against us. Be nice to get on top of him early and BlinkyBillmatangi

Last nights game was dedided by a dud call by the ref. No way was the pass to RCG forward.
Plenty of line ball decisions getting stuffed up decide games.
We have a bad record when it comes to penalties and 6 agains and refs calls.
They are a good team who will be right up for this,
we are struggling to click, maybe lacking confidence, and down a few troops.
We will need some luck or some fair calls to win this.
Run hard, hit hard, kick long and chase hard,
Target Mitchell.... his positional play is rubbish, and he's not a good defender.

I think the Brothers are really key for us tonight. In both attack and defense we need them both at their very best. If they both play really well it will go a long way towards winning us the game.

Not waving white flag. If we put up a limp display we'll get destroyed and that'll hurt and i'll be on here tonight raging. But if we play decently and lose a close one, I'll be ok. It's Rd 3. They care more about beating us than we do about beating them. That's because they don't have much else to live for. We have premierships to win.
