i cant wait to have gus back , i think his impact could be similar to jwh return vs souths just solidifies everything , fills defensive holes, then lodge to return after that .

Add Nathan Brown to the mix with Lodge and JWH and we've get some mongrel and aggression to match it with the best.

Enough aggro to top 7 sin bins in a game?

Moot point. Atkins lost control of that game from the time he farked up by not sending Burgess to the bin for his high shot on Teddy.
Controlled aggression is the key and JWH is mastering it atm.

It was a tongue in cheek comment.

It will be interesting to see what kind of prop rotation Robbo picks if he ever does get them all fully fit at the same time. I’m not sure Nathan Brown would be 4th choice, not necessarily because he’s not the 4th best prop option at the club but just because he offers very similar to what the other 3 already offer. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a more mobile running forward option like an Egan Butcher or Tupouniua.

Don’t think for a second Brown is in out top 17.

He is a very good player, it’s crazy people forget just how good he was.

Up until last year he was averaging 145m per game over a 5yr run for the Eels. That is ridiculous consistency for a middle.

I agree; he’s there for injury coverage only. Another prop goes down and he gets an opportunity.

                          Agree.
Parra played him as a loose 13 which suited Nathan.
It's going to be interesting if and where coach plays him with a healthy playing roster. Who does he leapfrog?

                          Also, Connor Watson or Turpin?
Lodge starts JWH on bench. Limited spots remain on the bench......even the teacher's pet Drew might miss out or wear 18.

Very interesting story I've heard about Brown.

Him and Mitch Rein were the only two players who openly questioned Brad Arthur's constant selection of Jake Arthur (to Brad Arthur himself). Coincidently, around the time they did that there first grade selections withered away...

Unfortunately I think that Brown will get plenty of opportunities due to injuries. I can only remember him at his peak and he was very very good. Tough grubby and a huge handful for other teams in attack and defence. Our standout middles of JWH, Lindsay, Lodge and Rads all are either injury prone due to age or head knocks and all have high potential for missed games due to suspensions. Brown if fit is a great replacement for any of them if that happens. Pretty sure he will get a fair bit of game time when fit. Sure Fletcher - Baker and May are looking like they are both on the up but in a fully fit middle rotation one if not two of them are in the side already. Browns a more aggressive and skill full Ben Thomas. I look forward to having him fully fit for injury cover and he will be a much better inclusion than what we have had in garage to cover in the last few years - he has X factor imo.

Very good. top starting 6 plus 3 bench forwards looks like

                                JWH
                                Cheese
                                Lindsay
                                Angus
                                Brown..... at near his best
                                Rads

                                Lodge
                                Nat
                                Sitili

Then we still have Baker, E Butch, May, Whyte and Thomas.

Best cover we have had for a long time, and we will need it.
We might lose Lindsay and Angus and Rads and maybe Lodge to origin.
The new head knock rule will affect everyone.
                                Suspensions will happen.
