No I think the greatest value of a forum is to hear different views and opinions.
Someone who dislikes a post would typically have a different opinion and I would much rather hear that opinion than just see a thumbs down.
The value of a thumbs up is we don't have to read the same opinion repeated multiple times in the same thread so I see it's value.
