Ourselves, no team can self destruct quite like us for the quality of roster that we currently possess, and yeah Souffs/Riff the Broncos are looking a very confident football team atm only question with them is can they sustain this level of consistency for an entire season, very capable of imploding though.
You are right on the money mun. No club has a roster like ours. We are our own worst enemy.
Agree with above poster. The team that can stop us is ourselves... we have a great squad with a mix of boom potential and big game experience. Strike weapons all over the park.
Poor defence, poor discipline and poor handling will be our biggest challenge.
Externally, I reckon Riff will always be up there. They've lost 2 games by 1pt and people are writing them off. Souffs will be up there as always sadly. Bronco's are good side but I still think another 1-2 seasons away given their youth and inexperience. Manly will be good if Turbo is fit and plays at least 80% of the games. Storm are shot in my opinion. Only so far the wrestle and bash 'em up style can go. They will be lucky to scrape the 8, especially if Paps doesn't return. They have been dreadful so far.
Hahaha so Huncho you reckon basically all parts to our game are poor!
Obviously too early to tell, and like everyone here i think at full strength we can beat anyone if we play to our ability.
Every team's season will be greatly affected by how they go with injuries and how they can cover them.
The teams who can win it apart from us are
Riff, Manly, Brisbane, Parra, Souffs
probably in that order.
If Riff lose Cleary they are gone.
If Manly lose Turbo same
If Brisbane lose Reynolds same.
Parra need Moses and Souffs need Mitchell
I'd love to see us beat Brisbane in the GF.
How could anyone know after 3 rounds (& 1 game). March form is not indicative of September form.
No one knows but the op was asking who people think will be contenders.
Do you think the Tigers, Dogs, Dragons, Warriors, Titans, Dolphins or Newcastle can win it?
As others have said it depends on a million things, if everyone remains injury free I'd say our biggest concerns would be Manly and Souths but you also can't underestimate Parra, Penrith and the Storm either.as they have great players and coaches.
I don't think they can. I think this is the year they will finally feel the pinch. You can't lose that much experience in your forward pack and replace it with fringe first graders. Anyway, will be interesting to see where they end up
Don’t ever underestimate the Storm.
Like I said if they get their full team on the paddock they can beat anyone.
The next team you are playing is your biggest threat- Winning Starts on Monday.
I say that at work all the time..it's true in any situation. Get up early on a Monday, do your prep for the week ahead and then reap the rewards at the end of the week..healthy, wealthy and wise..
There are a few copies of Big Jack's book "Winning Starts On Mondays. Yarns and Inspirations from the Jack Gibson Collection" from 1989 on ebay...LOL..the seller kindly has shown photos of what's inside..Noel Cleal in a Manly jersey and a paragraph called 'The Day Artie Gave Up Golf"...I'll take it on holidays later in the year..
I just bought a signed copy now..so I have signed books from Freddy, Johnny Peard & Big Jack to sit next to my coffee table book about coffee tables..
