I can hear Tallis blowing up now on hearing this although he doesn't seem to know how the cap works
Tallis doesnt know how the cap works because he could never find one to fit his fat empty moron head.

      Go the Chooks.
My dad had the shingles about 5 years ago. He would of been 75 at the time and it messed him up really badly. He got better but he was out of action and struggling for a couple of months. Hopefully a few more Roosters victories on the way to help with the healing.

Thanks, i'm sure we all hope for that.
It's a bummer because i was getting into a good fitness regime doing a lot of early morning kayaking, walking and swiming all through January and February.
I bought a place on Ephraim Island, Paradise Point, and had been kayaking to Stradbroke Island and walking across to the surf beach almost every morning.
Now I'm just eating too much.

Oh dear..I'm sorry to read this Norfolk as 4 weeks is a long time... Yes, please stay out of that glorious Gold Coast sun until you heal.

A win against my childhood team is my remedy for this week..

That's no good mate. I remember back in 2017 i started getting a strange rash on my arm, i suffer a bit from dermatitis that comes and go but this felt different, so i went straight off to the doctor and was lucky to get in as it was a Friday before a long weekend, he looked at my other dermatitis but when he got to my arm he said straight away that it was shingles and it was the third case he had seen in a few days, gave me a strong antibiotic and i had no trouble after that. Sounds like a dodged a bullet though considering how bad yours is.

My Mum had it in her early 70s too, just when she was getting a break from chemo. She got it down one side of her body and was in a lot of pain. She also ended up with permanent nerve damage from it as she was still getting shooting nerve pain in the same place she got the rash months later. The nerve pain would come and go.

Sounds like a great spot. I will be your Gold Coast neighbour in a few months. Actually, I just googled Ephraim Island. Looks sweet.

As soon as you are well you can get straight back into your fitness routine.

Well sounds like a good place to brighten up your life, I live down the coast a bit at Lennox, sadly beginning to become another Byron with the influx of monopoly people with real money.

                          Definitely.
It's amazing really. I turned 71 a month ago, I moved here a year ago because I was in a rut, in a few ways.
While I was walking my dog one evening just after new year we came across a couple pulling their kayaks onto the beach.
We started talking, turns out they were both World class kayak instructors and group tour leaders.
They were staying on Ephraim for a month and said I could join them at 5AM the following morning to paddle to Straddie.
Kind of a spontaneity test..... so I did.
In the following 8 weeks I guess we did that paddle and others more than 5 times a week every week.
I bought 2 kayaks, a single and a tandem, second hand, but good quality for $600 each.
Honestly the best thing I have ever done.
The paddle to Straddie takes about 30 to 40 minutes solid paddling depending on the tide and wind, each way.
We leave about 5.30 am. get there about 6 to 6.15 am.
Ten minute walk over to the surf beach, 20 minutes in the surf and 10 minutes back to the kayaks.
We are normally back on Ephraim by 8am.
What a way to start the day, you actually feel like you have achieved something, and it's only 8 am.
Then we do the 15 minute sauna/ cold pool/ 15 minute sauna/ cold pool thing and back at the apartment for bacon and eggs at 9 am.
I am so lucky, i'll be back into that from next Monday, I actually did it about a week ago because I thought it might help my shingles.... you know, salt water and sun right ?
But that didn't work well, shingles flared up again, set me back a bit, but I will be right by next week.
                          Go the Chooks.

                            This place is SO GOOD.
I mean...... It's an Island, with 24/7 security.
Gated, with a bridge to the mainland.
you can moor your boat and kayaks on your own floating dock.
Just walk down and get in.
Out my front door, I can be on the island beach in 2 minutes.
                            Unbelievable, google it.
                            Ephraim Island Paradise Point.
It's mainly people over 50 for sure, some WELL over 50, and very few young kids, but the oldies have an active social program.
group barbies every 2 weeks, plus more for the ladies.

Thanks, I understand, as a younger guy Greenmount was my beach of choice,
it took about one hour 15 minutes each way,
and I used to be there most weekends before 7 am, and back home in Brisbane by 1 pm.
                                Miss the traffic right.
I never visited Paradise Point until I bought here.
My brother lives in runaway Bay.
                                Horses for courses i guess.
