The exclusive scoops have to get in before one of the others scoop them.

First Teddy might go back to the Tigers so we keep Suaalii. Then Teddy extends.
As soon as Teddy extends Suaalii is pissed off and won't take up his option for next year. Surprise.
We are looking at Moses to replace Keary (not forgetting last year we were getting Munster to replace him).
Then Toups is retiring or leaving for another club because we got Young. FM we got that wrong too.
    Now its JWH's turn.

Not forgetting Crichton may not play at all this year and could retire. We are swapping NButch to get Young. The hysteria of signing Young, Leniu and Brown and the annual Roosters must be millions over the cap rehash.

Which other club has so many BS headlines? The media get their pay off us.

EDIT: Having said all that I do love how it sends the other supporters nuts.

IF JWH doesn't retire, I reckon he stays for less. He might be offered $700k elsewhere but doubt he would take it. You'd assume one of Allen and Paulo won't be here next year. Momo is gone. SST money is probably for Lodge. I'd say if JWH wants one more year the club would find away

Bad backs and hammy related injuries caused by them tend to be an ongoing issue. He is so important to us and I'd love to see him go out a winner with another premiership. It's a long season so let's see how he goes by the end of it.

I'll be devastated when Jazz finishes up. He is SO important to our team. We WILL struggle when he leaves, regardless of who we replace him with. He is our spiritual leader ... you simply can't replace that overnight.

My only hope is that he doesn't play elsewhere, even OS. He goes from being our best forward straight into a coaching/mentoring role with our pigs.

I hope that we see JWH and Toops retire on the same day. Both triple premiership winners and in my opinion the best serving prop and winger the club as ever seen.

Don’t believe this dribble from the media they have been making nonsense about the club all year

Let's make it 4 or 5 premierships before they retire!!

Just read a bs article suggesting 5 suitors for jazz.
titts. Worriers. Merge. Drongos and us. Theres only 1 team that will win the comp in that lot.
Finding money for Jazz. Doesnt the cap go up annually. The 8yr seniors allowance. Momos money. Billy smiths money
                  1911 1912 1913 1923 1935 1936 1937 1940 1945 1974 1975 2002 2013 2018 2019 2020

yeah, if he doesn't retire or stay with us i'd say a super league team might be more likely ahead of nrl teams.

robbo talked about him in today's presser and didn't give anything away other than give a realistic account that the bloke is old and it's only 2 games into his season

Could be his best year...EVAH! He hasn't been binned or cited yet.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

The League should bring in some sort of system that after 5 years for an example NRL players ongoing contract values are discounted - say between 2.5 % to 20 % each year thereafter

Whether you have it only for players that are playing for the same club or it's a higher discount for such players compared to players who have played for more than 1 club would need to be considered

Currently clubs receive a 250k discount for all long serving players at their clubs that meet the criteria which is not really much of an incentive

Below is an example of this contract system discount after 5 seasons at the various discount rates from 2.5% to 20%

                          Terry Pendleton from year 6 - 2.50%

                          $500k - discount 2.5% - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $487.5 k

                          Andruw Jones from year 6 - 5%

                          $500k - discount 5% - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $475 k

                          Chipper Jones from year 6 - 7.5%

                          $500k - discount 7.5% - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $462.5k

                          Steve Avery from year 6 - 10%

                          $500k - discount 10 % - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $450 k

                          Greg Maddux from year 6 - 12.5%

                          $500k - discount 12.5 % - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $437.5 k

                          John Smoltz from year 6 - 15%

                          $500k - discount 15 % - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $425 k

                          Tommy Glavine from year 6 - 17.5%

                          $500k - discount 17.5 % - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $412.5 k

                          Hank Aaron from year 6 - 20%

                          $500k - discount 20 % - Contract for Salary Cap Purposes $400 k

Love how he left Mitchell out of the discussion of who might be as good a fullback as Joey.
