The chooks showed their reliance on Tedesco last night. While Manu is an admirable replacement, he was short of a run and wasn’t nearly involved as he could’ve been if match fit. It was a valuable lesson for the team when you take out their main man.

Our defence held up well given the context of the game with us having to defend our line for 70% of the game. Couldve folded like a pack or cards.
The handling errors killed us. Same old same old. We can iron them out. Its only Round 6. Dont panic. We have light years of improvement, Melbourne dont. That's them. Very beatable.

They had a lot go their way last night. We never gave ourselves a chance with all that dropped ball. That was the difference last night.

be great to have everyone back for availability, but they shouldn’t be part of our excuses until they prove they deserve selection.

I don't think that performance is any indication of whether they can or can't win the comp though
41% possession and 61% completion rates meant they never gave themselves a real chance of competing in the match let alone winning it.
You would be more concerned if they had played at their best and lost by such a score though as well there is minimal if any thing that could be improved on except go to the market end of season and sign a few of these so called x factor players
Last night demonstrated the affect time in possession has on a game result - Storm - 31.44 minutes - Roosters - 21.56 minutes which is quite a disparity - if you are not going to complete sets at a high completion rate then you really are giving the opposition more than a leg up with such a time in possession difference. - almost 10 minutes
The time in possession for the 5 games so far- Dolphins - 29.44 - Roosters - 24.40
- Roosters - 29.48 - Warriors - 25.21
- Roosters - 28.35 - Souths - 26.11
- Roosters - 27.00 - Parramatta - 25.29
- Storm - 31.44 - Roosters - 21.56

Melbourne got plenty of good calls, 6 agains, missed knock ons, missed forward passes,
and we got suspect calls twice when lost balls were possible strips
but that shiit is normal for us.
We got lost, tried too hard, especially Smith and Walker, made mistakes, got flustered.
We didn't play to the conditions, slippery ball and ground.
We showed plenty of guts, but not a lot of smarts.
It wasnt our night, but not a death sentence either.
We can make a few adjustments when we get Teddy, Lodge, Angus and yes Momo back.
We won't have to play Hutch in a role he can't handle.
Plenty of blue sky ahead.
The team that won at Accor today sure did very well in the refereeing.
Blue sky ahead for us?
Not with that team in the positions they were last night.

There are better teams than Melbourne indeed but they'll still punish you if you complete at 40 odd %
