Taupau was either going for the ball or in process of attempting to make a tackle on that kick - so the contact although accidental warranted a penalty.
Munster had passed the ball and Radley's hit was late and in reality he was not attempting a tackle either.
Two different situations/scenarios - Thus a different on field official ruling was applied to both of these incidents not withstanding that Clubs were informed about the crackdown on late tackles though,
Maybe Radley missed the memo and or the meeting.

Yeah Rads already has his card marked by the refs before he steps onto the field. What he did was dumb and ill disciplined and because he’s a marked man the refs don’t think twice about the sin bin in such a circumstance. Golden child Cleary or Murray however would likely be given the benefit of the doubt.

No surprises that Sutton had the whistle who smashes the dogs as much as he does us. Rub of the green going the bunnies way by certain officials is a common theme.

So what are you saying - NRL sent out a memo this week so that justifies Radley's binning?
Come on mate, there's no rational justification for the inconsistency (not really inconsistency, actually just plain bias and cheating).

Those 2, Sutton and Klein, are blatant cheats who must go around to Crowe's house and have it off with him.
How in God's name does Burgess get away with that ****en testicle squeeze on Reynolds? Corruption at its worst. All of the Burgesses are rank crims who deserve deportation.

The Hughes one was under "the discretion of the Referee" on how it is dealt with on field - play on / penalty/sin bin/send off
With the League informing clubs of the crack down on late tackles starting in round 6 i.e could result in a sin bin or a send off - then the referee has limited discretion with the sin bin the minimum on field penalty.
What the League is doing with such general warning letters to the clubs is no different to individual players receiving warning letters about certain things they do on the field.
Suaalii for an example received one for his running style (raising the knees) - 2 weeks later he does it again and is charged with a grade 1 dangerous contact
It's not bias or cheating though as clubs and players were warned in advance so it is up to clubs and especially players to take note of this warning and avoid such actions on the field as they should be well aware of the implications of their actions.

I am guessing no memo was sent out to the coaches and players to study, reminding them grabbing people's testicles is to be avoided? It couldn't have been, as I know the Burgess brothers are avid readers and wouldn't have missed it.
Play on.

So you're saying from now on every late contact is a sin bin as minimum? Let's see if that happens.
In truth, Klein could have used discretion and not binned Radley for minor contact and a dive by Munster. In fact he couldn't wait to do so, and followed it up with phantom 6As on our line to make sure the game was out of our reach.

Can't defend Radley, while it wasn't that dangerous so to speak it was late & dumb.
In the context of the game it really was stupid stuff. Wasn't like we were down by 20 with 5 to go.
Nobody on here would like to be bowled over while they are relaxed & not looking. Some would call it a dog shot.

Let's see however if that's the onfield decision for each and every late contact from now on in the NRL.

If you think they were similar, once again you're entitled to your opinion.
