With all the injuries we have had the last couple of years I don't think there has been any other option but to have Hutch in the team to cover different positions. Our depth has been tested up until this point so not many other options available. The true test comes as we get quite a few back over the next couple of weeks. But at this stage with Watto out it seems it will be Hutch over Turpin on the bench which I am comfortable with. I can't see Robbo going with four forwards on the bench.

i agree with all of that but i would have gone for turpin on the bench tomorrow. still, hutch has filled in admirably over the last few years and robbo has stuck with him. fair enough, but i reckon turpin offers more esp since smith probably won't play 80 mins. if hutch does well tomorrow he'll continue to be picked but turps is waiting in the wings

Losing Watson has been such an underrated loss, when the team was at its best towards the end of last year it was on the back of the havoc Teddy/Manu/Watson were causing right up the middle behind the ruck teams simply couldn't deal with the speed/power/footwork of that trio.

I've come up with a proposal for the much discussed Hutch issue. It seems clear that only Robbo and the King think he genuinely should be playing top 17. I think its now obvious Robbo is just being stubborn and has painted himself into a corner with his public commentary around Hutch.

So, because he's a great bloke and seems to love the club, and likely has a footy brain that his physical limitations prevent him from displaying.....how about early retirement and make him a mentor/coach/ behavioural modeller for our bantams in the joint?

I'm serious....win/win.

On paper we should win easily and also players are vying for SOO so that makes them put in 150%. Im expecting a big effort and big win if we complete our sets. But one never knows with this team.
