  • Whether I agree with it or not, Robbo dropping Walker this weekend could be the first domino that leads to his sacking. if his gamble doesn’t pay off, if the sacrifice of Walker doesn’t lead to improvements on the field, that’s going to be a big wedge driven between Robbo and the club.

it’s a big swing to punt your halfback. If it doesn’t come off Robbo will find it hard to recover.

let’s also not forget this is the 3rd half Robbo has done this to. He ****ed Pearce off abruptly prior to 2017 to great success. He then destroyed Flanagan in 2020, with much less to show for it.

I can see a realistic future where walker moving on by end of year, us making some sort of brash signing to try and get a quick fix, it not working, and Robbo being moved on end of 2024. Hopefully it doesn’t happen though

Seriously?? Flanagan is proving that he made the right call! He's a very average player

Bellamy still manages to get the best out of his side regardless of how many players the club bleeds every year.

He was a better player better joining our club than he was when he left, and I put some of that down to Robbo’s treatment of him.

Flanagan wasn’t terrible for us, and he certainly wasn’t the main problem with our team that year. But Robbo found it expedient to throw him to the wolves after a mere half a season and move on to Walker instead of trying to develop him. Fair play, league is a tough sport and success requires ruthless decisions.

but if Walker now suffers the same fate I.e. being scapegoated and moved on, we may struggle to attract young halves to the club

So you are saying that you would have kept young Flano and it was a stupid decision by Robbo to let him go and get a 3 year $300K contract with the Dogs as we were not going to keep him beyond his final year let alone not be the number one halfback in the squad the following year?

So their great showing against the Titans and dogs don't count? Manly also beat them last round after being very ordinary for a few weeks in a row. How many grand finals have they won in the past 10 years compared to the Roosters?

He’d fit in very nicely with us right now then!

not sure how you read that.

I couldn’t give a **** about Flanagan. I care about us being able to sign young up and comers.

if Walker doesn’t get his spot back and is moved on… that will be 2 x young halves taken in then promptly spat out fairly quickly and without any real development to show for it. That won’t be a good track record when the next young prospect is looking for a home

So we just re-signed Sam until the end of 2025. He gets dropped like Manu and Trell did before him and all of a sudden you think he won't get his spot back and we could spit him out a few months after we were desperate to re-sign him?

LOL. If you weren't such a shiit stirring troll I'd think you were one of the old geriatrics roaming around this joint.

I remember Flanagan was the NRL leading point scorer when dumped by Robbo. Walkers got a lot of talent. Maybe Queensland have made him a secret massive offer and the club found out about it? Walker is a very good half back but Robbo seems to blame losses on the HB. So who would want to come to the roosters the way we treat our halves?

                              • I would have kept Fitzy as an assistant coach but paid him a full coaches pay or have him and Robbo as co-coaches. With Fitzy at the club I feel we would be playing a lot better and winning many more games. Without Fitzy Robbo is struggling a lot more to win games. But Robbo has definitely gone downhill. Our wins are not impressive and we are so predictable.
