Several times Manu mistimed his charge out of the defensive line and left us short. At least once the guppies scored from it.

Just afraid of defending, full stop. Walker misses a few, but he also makes a few that I never expect from such a little guy.

It's a trust issue. The players have to trust each other in defense. Just lacking a bit of trust at the moment.

Its disappointing because its not like he has just entered 1st grade.
Surely training and lectures should be happening. 50 game matches and playing next to Manu counts?

Basically the team is full of reserve graders who can't tackle!

Missed tackles can be very misleading.

For example, Tedesco had 8 tackle breaks in the game which means he forced Cronulla into 8 missed tackles but we all know none of those missed tackles were poor defence as it was just Tedesco pin balling into players and then backwards with no real threat to the line.

The Panthers premiership in 2021 was built on some of the best finals defensive performances I’ve seen, in their 4 finals games they only conceded 5 tries yet the stats say they missed 48 tackles in the prelim, 59 tackles in the grand final.

The more concerning defensive stat for mine in that game is that we conceded 8 linebreaks.
