  • Rate the NRL Teams Spines in order from 1 to 17

Where does the Roosters spine rate against the other 16 teams ones- Some players listed are injured or in reserve grade but I have included them in their teams best spines

Rate the NRL Teams spines in order from 1 to 17

Use the Teams corresponding number on the far left side and Name - If you rate the Roosters spine the best use number 11- Roosters - If Storm is next use 14- Storm and so on

Include reasons for say your top 5 or for all 17 if you like - be open minded with your choices
    1. Broncos - Walsh / Mam/Reynolds/Walters
    2. Bulldogs- Perham/Burton/Flanagan/Mahoney
    3. Cowboys - Drinkwatter/Dearden/Townsend/Robson
    4. Dolphins - Tabuai-Fidow/ Katoa/O'Sullivan/Marshall-King
    5. Dragons - Sloan/Amone/Hunt/Liddle
    6. Eels - Gutherson/Brown/Moses/Hodgson
    7. Knights- Miller/Pongia/Hastings/Crossland
    8. Panthers - Edwards/ Lui/Cleary/ Luke
    9. Rabbitohs-- Mitchell/ Walker/Ilias/Cook

          1. Storm
          2. Roosters
          3. Panthers
          4. Parra
          5. Souths
          6. Sharks
          7. Knights (if Brailey was fit)
          8. Manly
          9. Broncs
          10. Cows

Rest are like splitting hairs. I'd say the worst in the comp is probably Titans.

This is mainly based off paper and potential performance given the players in each position. For example, Riff have been better than us and Cleary is better than Walker but Teddy is better than Edwards and Smith is better than Luke/Kenny.

How come you've included O'Sullivan, Brailey (Newc) and Doueihi who are all out injured for their respective teams but left our Verrils and Brimson from the Titans?

I don’t mind the Titans spine (fully fit).

              Id personally run with
              1 JC
              6 Brimson
              7 Foran
              9 Verrills

Dolphins probably have the worst IMO hence why they were favs for the spoon, but their forward pack has toiled well and Hammer & JMK have been suprise packets playing to their potential.

On form Edwards is playing levels above Teddy atm unfortunately.

                    1. Panthers = Strong and big halves pairing, reigning back to back prems and NSW origin halves combination, second best fullback in the comp, best clutch #7 in the comp with a big boot

                    2. Grubbitohs = X factor fullback, one of the best hookers in the last decade, halves can kick and defend, aggressive

                    3. Storm = Bad boy Munny can turn a game on its head for shits and giggles, game against them recently showed that Meaney is no slouch, state of origin calibre hooker, Hughes is a solid player, Bellamy is one of the best coaches and runs a well-oiled machine/storm

                    4. Broncos = Speed everywhere in the spine, one of the best game managing half-backs in the last decade, X factor fullback, Reynolds can kick for days, aggressive

                    5. Roosters = Halves coached by Cronk, best fullback in the world, dynamic former Dally M and current New Zealand hooker with potential to be once again the best, 3x premiership winning 5/8, future origin half-back in the making, spine under the oversight of the best modern-day coach in the NRL

Agreed but overall you gotta back Teddy. Plus losing Api has hurt them a fair bit...

Melbourne Storm would be number one when Papenhuyzen returns - Papenhuyzen/Munster/Hughes/Grant

Penrith 2nd - second best half combo's next to the Storms - SOO Fullback in waiting in Edwards and Luke who although new to NRL has been a fine player in NSW Cup and is ticking all the boxes at NRL level so far.

Souths - Mitchell on his day is unstoppable -just doesn't have enough of those days/ Walker despite what people say is right up there in the discussion of best 5/8's in the NRL / Ilias is a good foil for Walker and Cook a NSW SOO/Australian rep standard dummy half

Parramatta - King Gutho is in my view in the top 4 club fullbacks in the NRL / Brown and Moses 3rd best halves combo but can also be Latrell Mitchell like / Hodgson the only question mark -certainly was one of the best dummy halves in the game before those spate of Knee injuries

Roosters - Tedesco still the best fullback but others are certainly closing in /Keary and Walker have dropped back in the pecking order as a halves combo -need to spread the workload in offense better and be less structured/ B Smith - will never be an 80 minute player so the Roosters will need to decide the minutes he should play for maximum impact week to week- 50 or so minutes

                        1. Storm
                        2. Penrith

Yeh maybe I should change it or people could remember who would normally be there if not injured.

I'm only pointing it out because you put others in there that are injured long term such as Doueihi and O'Sullivan etc yet left a second string Titans spine there. Also, I forgot to mention that you also omitted Foran.
As for the best I tend to agree with you.
