  • WALKER BLOW

In a blow for the Sydney Roosters, halfback Sam Walker’s comeback has been delayed for at least another fortnight to three weeks. Coach Trent Robinson was hoping he’d return for the game against the Bulldogs next Sunday. His recovery from a knee injury is going slower than expected.

        • Yikes.. does this have a snowball effect with Manu remaining in the halves and Suualli in centres. Jeez I hope not. We are halfway through the season and have built no combinations. It’s now or never we need to start putting players in their correct positions and building combos which means I’d likely (& reluctantly) rely on Hutch in the halves with Kez.

          • I can’t read the article. What terrible news though. Nothing is going right this year!

            • Trent was planning on playing Walker against the dogs?

So he’s confident he’s worked out whatever Trent decided needed working on in his 1 reserve grade game in which we got smashed?

I can’t imagine Walker will be busting his ass in rehab trying to rush back from this knee injury

              • Anything but the slug Hutch in the starting 13

                • Add another 3 games in reserves to prove his fitness, then another 2-3 weeks to prove he has learnt what he was meant to learn from initially being dropped.

the dropping of walker has directly resulted in his, and Manu’s injuries.

I was thinking exactly the same thing Danish ... I don't expect Walker to return to first grade until at least a couple of months in Reserves to work on his development areas.

Otherwise, the whole point in dropping him seems to be politically driven (and I really hope this is not the case, otherwise it could be bye-bye).

                    • Well done Trent, what a master stroke to drop Walker!

Football gods have intervened and as a result both he and Manu got injured,Walker in a meaningless NSW Cup game..

Now we are stuck with Drew Hutchison at 6!

                        • It’s very easy to be hindsight heroes but the worst part of this particular scenario is the majority of us could see it was an error from the start. Makes you wonder why it wasn’t so obvious to coach Robbo.

Ofcourse Keary will be busting his ass to get back, he's a kid who loves to play footy.

                            What a depressing take.

Yeh because Robinson has control over injuries.

The Robbo pile on is reaching ultimate highs of stupidity.
