Walker dropped

honest question.

Can anyone name a half that has been dropped in recent memory and gone on to success at the same club? I’m struggling to think of an example.

I’m starting to understand more and more why Walker was dropped. I’m still a huge fan of his and want him in the team long term but his 4 man cut outs do frustrate me.

When they work it’s a thing of beauty but I feel like he uses it too much and a lot of the time it stunts our momentum or ends up in an error or handover.

With the team we have I feel like we should be playing through teams and we have been playing too sideways. Having a big ball running 5/8 should help straighten everything up (hopefully).

Can you name any halves that have been dropped and have left that club and have been successful at another club - i.e the same season if released or the next season

Chad Townsend went on to ok success at the cowboys after being dropped at the sharks… although that debatable as they really only had a good season last year and are sucking again now.


honestly not many successful halves have been dropped from first grade, and if they do it’s usually in their rookie year when they weren’t expected to play a full season anyway.

I must say the more I digest this news the more concerned I’m getting that the Club may be looking in a different direction moving forward regarding a long term no.7!

Hope I’m wrong as I feel their is a future star in Sam Walker,but not sure if the Club still sees it that way..

I can understand dropping Walker to get Manu more involved, but not the above.

Sandon Smith has now been listed as the halfback for the Roosters in NSW cup after originally being listed as an out

Does this mean anything ?

Have to wait until 2:15 pm tomorrow when the Sydney Roosters NSW Cup side is finalised as no player playing 12 is listed either
