2yrs & 50 odd first grade in i would have thought he's well on his way.

Yes he's very young & was thrown in early but was handling himself very well & proved his development was heading upwards.

We can't sustain any decent attacking advantage with poor completion & error rates.

ANZAC day against an ordinary Dragons team wasn't the game to drop him.

    • it's not just about whether joey and kez is a better halves pairing than sammy and kez. sammy and kez in the halves and joey at centre is probably better than joey and kez in the halves and momo at centre. the other thing is that kez isn't a natural organising half.
even if he didn't get motm today i wouldn't be surprised if sammy comes back sooner rather than later if robbo thinks his head is in the right spot

I think dropping him on Anzac Day caused both Walker and his family unnecessary public embarrassment and I bet they’re privately talking to him to move to Brisbane asap. It’s a clear public humiliation on the greatest event of the year. Has Walker secretly been talking to Brisbane? I honestly don’t think it’s a form issue otherwise Rads and others should have been dropped also.

          Amen..
          Total humiliation, total embarrassment.
No way Radley and others would be dropped.
Anything needing improving in Sam's game could've been done at training.
Wouldn't surprise me if Sam has played his last first grade game for the Roosters.

          • I am sure you will find his Father Ben and Uncle Chris were also relegated to reserve grade during their careers so not sure how it could be said that they were publicly embarrassed.

Coach Robinson made the tough but correct call as Manu has to be closer to the ball being one of the Roosters main offense players.

Walker needs to regain his mojo in offense and if was up to me I would have him paired with Sandon Smith in NSW Cup - Sandon is a genuine organising and controlling half so Walker can just play as a running 5/8.

Going forward though the question will be what type of half is Walker to be - a running one / controlling or organising one or a combo of both.

That will determine what halves partner he will need to be paired with and what position he will play i.e either 5/8 or half back

He certainly has to work on all aspects of his game and should use this opportunity to do so.

The so called spine has been given a wake up call and needs to improve as they as a unit are underperforming.

Manu and Keary are the best halves combo that the Roosters can field at this current moment.

            • I reckon Robinson should be dropped.

Indeed, and now with Angus back, Walker doesn't get the chance to play.
He turns 4 points into 6 most of the time.

                • Do you think we can deduce the only reason Momo has been selected in the starting side over Hutch at centre is because he is somewhat of a goalkicker? To me, that means Walker's dropping makes even less sense because he is bringing in an out-of-form player who has been injured for the entire pre-season but has selected him over Allan and Hutch (thank god) who have been involved with the team through both trials and the season to date. Bringing Momo in purely because we need someone to kick goals shows that the Walker decision is probably more than tactics and there is something more to it. Becuase he has altered the team a fair bit to get him out of the side, even dropping his favourite player Hutch.

Worth noting I'd rather Momo at centre over Hutch, not by much though.

                  • Their must be more to this story as the demotion of Sammy for a blockbuster match like Anzac Day against a weaker team seems more like a punishment as opposed to a learning lesson..

I mean the coach picked him for the 2 away games against stronger teams like the Storm and Sharks ,yet decides to drop him against one of the weaker teams this week which should’ve been an opportunity for Sammy to work on little things if needed in a game where the forwards should dominate and give him room..

Their must be more to this story, maybe more senior players have been involved!

I don't think Manu is our long term option at five eighth. OK to just fill in I don't think he's a genuine five eighth.

Manu struggles defending in the centres. Defending one in would mean having rampaging backrowers running at him all game.

I'm sh!tty with him too but prepared to cut him some slack for now. If the current performances continue then the heat will eventually come, even from those that would never have a bad thing to say about him.

                          Something seems off definitely.

Crichton plays on the left and Walker on the right though

I hope Manu shines at 5/8 however i am not that confident. Other than Joey i would have Radley at 5/8 - a la Stumpy Stevens and Johnny Peard.
