It seems modern coaches outsource actual coaching to others, but Cronk is the wrong man to mentor the kid. Throw the cheque book at Joey, even Noddy would be more beneficial for the kid, anyone but Mr overanalyses.
Cronk the most overrated halfback in history? You mean the player who showed up here and lead us to b2b premierships in the 2 seasons he was here.

Throw the money at Joey? We tried that once. He was brought in as the halves coach (i think to mentor Hastings and Lam in 2015 or 2016). He did f*ck all. Joey then went to Parra and did even less as the halves coach there. For all his talk Joey hasn't developed a single top play maker since his retirement

walker reads the game very well and could play either - if we had cooper cronk at 7 he'd make a great eyes up 5/8 but with kez our other half 7 is his place. even if joey kills it at 6 i'd have sam back sooner rather than later - unless momo also kills it at centre

You can see why we all should be grateful that particular posters have no say on anything football related at the Roosters - Be somewhat of a Shambles if they did,

Joey is working with Jesse Southwell though

I disagree, players with limited talent have to work extra harder to match the other naturally gifted players. Therefore they know what and how it take to get to elite level whereas naturally gifted players have it easy so they can't really teach that to others.

Players with limited talent who had to work hard and stick to a plan to succeed shouldn't be trying to coach naturally gifted players to play like they did.

All players no matter if so called gifted or not have to work hard to get to NRL level and then work even harder to stay at that level.

Ridiculous for people to say Cronk is coaching Walker to play like he did though

Cronk has a mentoring role providing feedback ,advice and support to Walker and he doesn't interfere with what Walker is doing training wise with the squad nor the way the Coaching staff wants him to play.

Cronk only turns up once a week or starters

On their good days Walker and Keary play more direct than they have been lately and draw defenders in. But most of the time lately rushing defences have been forcing them to go wide without drawing defenders in so they can all slide on our outside backs. Most of the wide passes have been getting to the wingers at the same time as the defence. The defenders can see whats coming and adjust to it. We need to make more breaks towards the center of the field. Hopefully Teddy Manu and Radley can open up the middle on the back of good runs from the forwards, or Angus and Sitili will open up the edges and give the backs more room
