  • The Dolphins

    They're hard not to like.
Seriously how much of a surprise packet are they. Ol Skeletor is a farkin top coach, I know most hate him but Ive gotta say if he was the coach at the Roosters he would win comps.
I actually think now the Dolphins will make the 8 they will win at least 14 games purely because Bennet is the coach.
I admire how they play they play above their weight.

    Unbelievable today

Look at their side on paper today, very very average

He has obviously got them all on the same page believing in each other

If they make the finals the grump old carnt has to get Coach of the year

      I’ll say it..

look at the football Bennett gets out of the dolphins 17 compared to the football Trent gets out of the roosters 17. Purely football tell me you like watching our club over the dolphins atm. Replace Dolphins with Warriors and I give the same sentiment.

I find it hard to like the Dolphins, ditching the Redcliffe name and not aligning yourself to an area is just off putting as far as I'm concerned. Just feels like a very soulless organisation.

Bennett has always been very good at getting lower end players to reach their full potential, it's been the trademark of his career. I'm not overly surprised by the start to their season, if they can maintain it and pick up 10-12 wins it will be an incredible first year.

Look, I love Robbo, but he isn't in the same tier as Bennett and Bellamy. For me they lead the pack by a good distance and then Robbo is best of the rest.

Their backs are not that good on paper, but their forwards were always top notch. Bromwich bros - NZ internationals, Kaufusi - Kangaroo, Nicholls - strong Souffs player. But yes, Bennett is a legendary coach, second only to Big Jack.

Seriously the Titian clicked off at half time Bennett had nothing to do with that win

i like all 3. can't compare robbo to where those 2 are atm - time will tell if and when robbo coaches for another decade plus - but he compares alright to them when they'd coached for 10 years. each has different strengths and weaknesses which isn't surprising cos they're different people

Dolphins still had to be up for it. Just cause the titans sucked in the second half, with the score line (26-0 to the Tits at one stage) the Dolphins had to regroup and play some decent footy. They could have very easily given up/lost their way.
                  EASTS TO WIN!

Yeah they did step up ,the momentum of the game gave them the edge, I'm sick of people blaming or turning the coach into a martyr for a win or lose, round 1 we beat ourselves not Bennett beating us

The Dolphins showed again today that a team which 'play for each other' and keep things simple will beat a team of players with great skills but which lack that play for each other honest football attitude. The 'superstar' status that gets placed on the Roosters players by sports journos and is adopted by the players and our supporters alike is something that the club needs to address. The Roosters entire squad needs to get rid of their elite superstar attitude and just get back to playing hard and simple football.

100% spot on. We believe our own hype and when things don’t go our way we get frustrated, lose composure and go into ‘error & penalty mode’ which only causes more frustration. We need to see a sports psychologist. We aren’t handling the pressure well. The roosters feathers are being ruffled by opposing teams deliberately to throw us of our game causing us to get away from our game plan. All the teams know if we play our style we are unbeatable.

I think we need to employ the coach whisperer a little earlier in the season. Whatever it is he does seems to work. Not sure you’d be able to keep it up for the whole season but definitely should do it earlier than last year. Those last eight regular season rounds, he had us firing and looking like world beaters.

Not sure how you can say teams and players are very very average when you don't play against them though.

                        How would you know ?

Smart marketing, small population if you just take Redcliffe as an area, works in different way I suppose, and time will tell, but probably the same reasoning the roosters dropped “eastern suburbs” from there name.
