I hope that is the case.
Luai wants to play for Somoa where as Hynes wants to play for Australia so he should be the NSW 5/8 plus he is playing better footy than Luai.

Sorry for the late reply Bates I just noticed your interesting stats, not much in it as you say. I go on the eye test and I just like the way Cleary drives with his shoulders up around the ball. Both big boys which is a big advantage in the halves.

Hey mate. I agree Cleary's tackling technique is solid. Having a good defensive half nullifies the opponents edge forward constantly targeting that channel. It's a big plus for a half these day's!

Than again, having some defensively intimidating edge backrowers also helps reduce halves being targeted.

and that has been something we have struggled with so far this season, Sitili looked great against the Worriers, plenty of aggression the Butcher boys just have not shown thus far.

A very insightful comment. Sitili’s aggressive defence is one of the key things that we’ve missed badly this year. Both Butchers are generally sound defenders, but they don’t fold attackers in half like Sitili does. Fewer big boys will run at Sam if they know Sitili is defending next to him and is likely to launch at them like a missile. Butcher next to Sam doesn’t scare anyone.

Heaps of posters on here don’t rate Sitilli’s defence but there is nothing wrong with his defence. He looks bigger since his return.

I think you guys are confusing good strong contact with overall defence. Sitili has always had a good shot in his locker and packs more punch than Nat Butcher for example, but his lateral footwork, reading and anticipation is shocking, particularly on an edge. He is perfect bench impact middle with his hard running, increased size and strong shots.

i think you might find he is a little over ideal playing weight mick.

but i thought he was superb last week on return .

Hopefully with a few more edge forwards our rotation will better to suit reduce minutes where possible to avoid fatiguing players like Sitili.

cause I was often guilty of saying he hit harder with ball in hand than he would defensively.

but for his 1st game back in top grade I was definitely happy with his efforts and he did not look one bit out of place.

You’ve said that to me before about his lateral footwork, reading & anticipation but it’s not right, he’s as good as any of the top backrowers it’s just that he gets scrutinized badly on here. He doesn’t miss anywhere near as many tackles as is made out. Anyway it’s cool to have different opinions.

Absolutely doesnt look out of place. Would be in our strongest 17 every day of the week. Big Sitili fan when used correctly.
