He tackled well too, none got past him.
A better defensive performance from Hutch, he made 8 tackles, missed one. Better stats than Momo though who made 14 but missed 4.

We had a few good forwards today.
The whole pack played very, very well in tough conditions. No ACL hangover for Sitili at all and he’s pushing for his starting position back. Angus is still a bit off the pace, but definitely improved on last week. I think Collins may be the best front rower in the comp at the moment. Smith gets better every game. The Butchers were fantastic in defence; Egan did some hard yards. Lodge made good metres and Baker was also strong. The biggest win of all was that Victor didn’t get sin binned; he also had a great game.

          • Not sure if anyone has had the chance to watch the Warriors press conference but one of the more refreshing press conferences I’ve seen in a long time.

Fair play. Easy to see why they are having their best start to a season in a long time, Egan & Webster all class.

            • The most pleasing thing about today’s win was that our defence was the best the best it’s been since the back end of last year; absolutely rock solid. The Worriers didn’t throw too much at us, but you can only play what’s in front of you. Defending so many sets inside our 20 was fantastic.
The forwards were the best they’ve been all year. Keary controlled the game well at 7, but I still think our backline looks very disjointed in attack and Manu still looks lost in the 6 role. We will be stronger when he’s back in the centres. Cory Allan played well; some good hit ups, solid in defence and did some very good clean up work at the back. Paulo was also good again. Suaalii had a better game and I think he actually passed the ball today: he had a better defensive game today. Still not a lot of points in us. Hopefully we can build on today’s effort.

All class, but their players are coached to play for penalties; nearly as bad as Souffs. I think the officials did a good job today by not being baited by players staying down after the tackle.

He’s been great from the bench. Do you think his impact coming from the bench would be lessened in the starting side…against tired teams he’s potentially a game breaker?
                  EASTS TO WIN!

                  • I thought Sitili was a game breaker last year before he did his ACL, and that was when he was a starting 2nd rower on an edge. For me, the more time your game breakers are on the field the better. Would we play Teddy off the bench because he would have more impact against tired defences?

He’s a good coach and they will continue to improve under him
