We need a halfback! I believe Walker can do the job. He needs to stand up if he is reinstated and take ownership of his responsibilities as the Roosters No 7.

    Up The Chooks.
Didn't he fail his HIA in reggies though? Might have to wait a while for Walker...

He said similar in last week's press conference in reference to whether he would move Manu back to cover for Toops's injury. So I wouldn't say it means anything one way or the other at the moment.

From all his comments on the situation I think he wants Walker to learn more about halfback play in reserve grade but if injuries dictate he wouldn't hesitate interrupting that development process to do what's best for the First Grade side. Hence it will always be a week to week proposition.

I find him to be quite pleasantly disposed on most occasions.

yep, depends how strong he played this weekend. given his injury record there's an argument to give him a few games in reserves to find his feet

Problem with reserve grade is he has tons of room and time and does very little D by comparison to first. It’s hard to read where he is improving from watching todays game. He’s running the ball more effectively, but I don’t know what coaches are specifically after and there’s such a big gap in class. I didn’t see any great game management improvement, kicking game etc.

I know if I’m lining up for an opposing squad, I’m way more terrified right now of dealing with Manu than I am Sam - so I suppose that’s my yard stick. But I’m barracking for young Sammy

With back stocks getting low it might be time to bring Sam back especially against a weaker team like the Cowboys.

God I hope the injury curse is behind young Billy, would love to him see him consistently play FG even if it means moving Joe back to wing,

Very good center is young Billy smith back on the paddock Hes big, fast, a good defender let's hope he is ok now as it would solve our center problem on one side I'm starting to think center isn't the right spot for young joe, maybe he is a winger/fullback after all, time will tell but he hasn't impressed me at center so far.
