It's really tediously boring this incessant beating up on the Hutchinator one has to honestly say which has also now unfortunately extended to personal attacks/character assassination and even derogative name calling which is more akin to what I used to hear on a public school playground back in the day

I think we all get it even from the first post that particular folk on here don't rate him as player or even as a person now so is it really really really necessary to keep repeating this ad nauseum though ?

Whatever you think is irrelevant as Coach Robinson is not of the same view.

For the record his 2021 in the red white and blue was very good/tops especially when you consider Drew's limited NRL experience himself and playing with an 18 year old rookie half back in Sam Walker and the injury toll throughout the year

Drew also missed 6 weeks of footy himself after suffering 3 fractured ribs and collapsed lungs vs Parramatta - Brown's Knees in the Back - Lungs actually collapsed 3 times which can be very serious and required emergency surgery.

    When Sam Walker first started playing in NRL Drew Hutchinson was the 5/8 - Drew had only 15 games of NRL experience himself at that stage - Dragons 2015 (3) / 2016 (1) -ACL / Roosters - 2019 (4) / 2020 (5) - 2021 (2) Before moving to 5/8 in round 3

2021 - Sam Walker Half and Drew Hutchison 5/8

    15 games

    10 Wins
    5 Loses

Sam Walker Half with Lachlan Lam as 5/8

    4 Games

    2 Wins
    2 Loses

2022 - Sam Walker Half and Drew Hutchison 5/8

    1 Game

1 loss to a red hot Parramatta side especially their first half - 26-16

Drew played 20 games in 2021 and 25 games in 2022

Surely even if you don't rate or like a player you can at least respect any and all players who are currently wearing the famous red white and blue jersey of the Roosters - Is that too much to ask for ?
If you actually read past the surface level, I'd say 95% of people on here including myself are not critical of Drew himself. The critque at least from my standpoint is on Robbo. He is the one picking him out of position and making him look like a shag on a rock in the centres. Drew is an excellent pro and a good adequate back-up half, I think i've said that numerous times. It's his position in the 17 over others whilst playing out of position that get the ire of the pen, and as I said the ire is directed towards the coaching.

If you literally look at my previous post I said that nobody can blame Drew, it's not like he is going to refuse to play. Respect for Hutch and his services but Roosters come first and we are a far weaker side with him in it out of position. Handbrake is not a personal insult, more of a funny/ironic nickname.

Regarding your beloved stats, I also just said in previous post that I'd rather see Drew play in the 6 jersey given that is his actual position and he has good yardage on his kicks and a calm head. Manu has neither in the 6 position. Again, a baffling decision by Robbo to have a seasoned pro who is a half at the club, but gives a running centre the chance ahead of him and puts Hutch out of position instead. I don't expect you to respond with any reason or logic so unsure why I reply lol.

Centres are a bigger headache than halves atm.
Manu should play where he's needed most.

        100% correct
Unfortunately our stubborn coach sees otherwise!

I haven't seen them play but they're down the bottom of the ladder whereas the Bears (with more size across the board I think?) are up the top.

Size doesn't always win games but when it's reggies and your talent's stretched out between two teams, I think it sorta does make a difference.
Just re-read his post and see now it was NSW Cup he was referring to.

          My mistake. Apologies to BB.

Spare me the holier than thou rubbish you KAKFA Queen,
I'll call him the Handbrake for as long as you call him the Hutchinator you diickhead.
I've never attacked him as a person, but he is not a first grade footballer, not in any position including 14.
he weakens not only the spot he plays but also those either side of him by making them second guess themselves wondering what he will do.
I don't blame the guy, he tries his best.
I blame the coach and the club in general for not making sure we had a top notch 14.
Even Watson is no great shakes.
We were spoiled for years having Wing and Aubs, but we have dropped the ball here.

I'm a Hutch fan and have been since he starting playing with us, and I have no issues with him being selected in the side and think he's a more versatile utility option than Turpin.

With that being said... I hate seeing him at centre. In the same way that I hate seeing Sitili or Crichton there. I think they're all good defenders technically, but they just get burned by quicker outside backs too easily.

A couple of the Cowboys backs are pretty fast, so I'd be a lot more comfortable dropping Turpin, shifting Hutch to the bench and then having Smith/Manu or the fella from NSW cup take the centre position.

That's just my take, though. See what happens.

The NRL squad is in camp up on the Sunshine Coast and Walker is there as well.

The Roosters NSW Cup side play Souths at 11:00 am on Saturday 6th May at North Sydney Oval line streamed on NWSRL TV so one will see if Walker is playing in that game

The NRL squad isn't officially reduced to 19 players until 4:00 pm on Saturday 6th May

Nathan Brown is playing NSW Cup for the Sydney Roosters- 3 games now - Going okay but has a lot of competition in front of him to crack an NRL spot since Angus Crichton and Sitili Tupouniua are back and the Form of the Butcher Brothers - Nat and Egan.

I wasn't real keen on this signing but I was very impressed with what I saw out of Nathan Brown last weekend and I think he should be on the bench in first grade to give Rads a spell.
When Rads goes to hooker and with Manu at 5/8 it leaves all the ball playing to Keary and makes us very easy to defend against in that period.
Brown is still a shifty, tough tackling hard running player who is always in the game and offers a point of difference, thought he was our best player last weekend.

Seen his last two digs JB and he seems on an upward trajectory, getting fitter. Would definitely add something if/when he gets a chance in firsts. The only slight worry is he is another refs overkill target, to add to our current list.
