I was pretty gutted when we forced Pearce out. I always thought he would be a 1 club man, break the record for most games for us and possibly the NRL and go down as a Chooks legend.

Worked out in the end winning two comps but I was one of the few Pearce fans.

Latrell stung bad. I know the Rose boys quite well and their disdain for the Roosters has been a constant so when he signed with them it was inevitable I guess. RTS was very disappointing, felt like we did all the hafrd work with him and never really got to reap the rewards. If I think back to my childhood, it was Kerry Boustead. He was my favourite player at the time and I was devastated when he and a heap of our other top line players left to follow Bozo

        Purely from a disappointment factor:

        1. Freddy: (i know he didn't leave just retired) but in hindsight I reckon he left 2 seasons too early. Probably could've won another comp if he did hang around. More importantly have we ever had a bigger hangover from a single player retirement/leaving than the hole created by Freddy's absence. It took us until 2010 to really get back to the top.

        2. Wing: He should've been given the chief playmaking role once Freddy left. IMO a better half than both Finch and Anasta.

        3. Morley: Just loved his aggression

        4. Jimmy BBQ Maloney: Should've been retained.

Gotta be RTS. He should have won multiple premierships with us at fullback.

yeah we got teddy a few years later, but I’d argue if we’d kept Roger we’d have had the same success. To see him have to languish at the warriors, then rugby, was very sad.

personally I was quite sad to see SKD leave as I thought he deserved to take our try scoring record, but that was a fair business decision for both parties.

also I agree on the Walker front. It feels like he is being squeezed out, and that will be a great shame as I think he is going to play 7 for QLD one day. If he does leave it could also spell the end of this incredible period of dominance we’ve had and begin our fall back to the pack

When the berries poached Paul Dunn it kinda sucked.

RTS, Maloney, and Jennings. We were very fortunate to recover from that and win a premiership with Teddy, Keary, and Latrell.

If Freddy played on in 05, we were every chance of another premiership. He definately had 2 more seasons in him. Trell is the biggest loss of the last decade. Thanks to genius supercoach, walker will be up there too,

Fatrell the biggest loss of the last decade? Personally I can't agree with that. I think Cronk, Cords and Friend were all bigger losses from the 2018-2019 team. For multiple reasons, including their leadership. Fatrell, great player but what success has he had at souffs. Nothing yet. Would you rather Teddy or Fatrell at FB for us? 99% of us would prefer Teddy.

Since he has left we have won 1 semi final vs titans by a point which we shouldve lost.

The one and only RONNIE GIBBS... a pure hero if ever there was one... have hated Manly ever since and no signs of abating!

And like us, he’s had zero premierships since he left and won’t see another for a while.

Dunn has said that he left because Peter Moore told him he would give him a Kangaroos jersey (Moore was a selector) Thats how Canterbury and Manly got so many players over with Arthruson and Moore being selectors for the Kanagaroos.
Dogs and Manly fans forget this.... or when we were shafted with the draft by the at the time powerful Magpies.
So good to see where we are today compared to those clubs!

I remember hating losing Noel Cleal, Bousted and Ian Barkley.. some of my faves from that era.
Gary Freeman was a big loss.
And obviosuly lately its RTS and Trell.

Alex McKinnon has no clue. The fact that he claims we are prioritising short term success instead of long term is ridiculous. It would be a shame to lose Walker though, but I’d say it’s highly unlikely. All important figures at our club have stated their praise for him and that he is the future of the Roosters.

Bob Fulton was the biggest loss, because he took so many of our best with him. Cleal, Boustead, McCabe, Schubert, Barkley, Brown. Terry Hill was another that stung at the time; he could impact a game similar to what Latrell could when he was a with us, but was more consistent.
