"Sam Walker has been shopped to Wayne Bennett's Dolphins".
*
"Baker is going to Broncos, 2 years, bidding war, Roosters salary cap not enough to keep him."
Daily Tele today.
Charming.
Well that was another big waste of time with development.
Lodge is going.
Baker is going.
"Big is not better at Bondi", obviously.
Makes you wonder just who is getting all the cap money at Bondi.
Baker will be joining:
Haas
Carrigan
Capewell
Riki
in the Broncos pack.
Why aren't we releasing Suaalii and keeping Baker?

I keep reading that Walker is being "shopped". Is that just a poor choice of words? Because his manager isn't allowed to "shop" him without the club's permission. So then the question is whether the club has given permission but haven't bothered to tell us? I'm sure they're aware through the extensive comments on every social media platform available that Walker is a crowd favourite, is seen as the key to the club's future and a few supporters will definitely walk away from the Roosters in disgust if Walker goes (or is allowed to go) in such murky circumstances. Even I have to say that this whole business has left a very bad taste in my mouth. It's not even about Walker anymore - well, it's a bit about not wanting to lose such a prodigious talent for seemingly no reason, but it's more about the club straight-up lying about what's going on. If Walker leaves after giving a club-sanctioned interview basically saying, "All good, everything's good, nothing to see here", there will be fallout and given what people are saying elsewhere (it's been pretty measured here by comparison) it will probably be bigger and nastier than the club was anticipating.
