On top of that I see how Souffs play such beautiful attacking footy with a less talented roster and wonder why we've looked like bumbling clowns week after week for a few years now.

I don't subscribe to the view that Robbo failed Walker in the same way that he "failed" the earlier youngsters, O'Sullivan and Flanagan. Like Walker, they were simply deemed incomplete packages for whatever reason as were Lewis and Volkman. The Clearys and Cronks are rare gems. My guess is that the decision on Walker has almost been made. He is certainly no Cronk and his size is a big negative.

I have always agreed with Mickey that Trell will not win a Premiership with Souffs but the signing of Wighton has changed my mind. Already impressive, the Bunnies will get another gear with Wighton's strike added to Trell's brilliance (what about his game V the Broncs?). [B
Was his letting go the greatest recruitment stuff up of all time?

Sadly yes...up there with Thurston being passed over, to small and defensive liability.....wait a mo...think I've heard something similar recently.

I may be mistaken but I seem to recall a similar article about how Shannon Hegarty was going nowhere and he was happy at the chooks only to sign with souths a few weeks later. For Walkers sake I hope he goes where he is appreciated. He has no future under genius supercoach, who has no clue how to get the best out of him or develop him.

Robbo faced up to the difficult truth that you can't win a comp with 2 tiny halves, neither of whom can kick long or high.

For all we know Sam is telling the truth. Good on him. In that case his turn will come.

If not, and he can't take directions from the guy with whom the buck stops, well unfortunately he just ain't good enough yet or has enough leverage to be saying "do what I want or I'll leave". If he is, then see you later.

What would be your plan then for his development ?

Agree 13 it's like a golfer if you have good timing and technique, Reynolds in particular has incredible timing and kicks as well as an Aussie Rules player.

Whilst it's comforting to hear him say nice things about the club, it doesn't mean he will stay.

                  Nobody is guaranteed to stay.

Who wrote the article? I assume it wasn't Crawley?

The only players I feel would never have left are players like Cordner, Friend, Mini or Ricko.

Yep, a superb all round kicker Reynolds. He is 85 kg though. If Sam puts on 7 kg of muscle and improves his long kicks, well then we are talking.

Good on Sammy. Well articulated, seems like a legend bloke.

Apparently the answer is that it's Walkers fault. And now we beat two average teams and all of a sudden that justifies the decision to drop Sam; who has dropped so far down the pecking order that Robbo would rather play Hutch the Slug at centre than see Manu back where he belongs and put Sam back in the team.

He'll leave over this. The words are nice but mean nothing. And we'll be left signing a Luke Brooks type to replace Keary.
he won't leave before 2025 if we don't want him to leave.
maybe hutch plays at centre this weekend but there's a good chance he won't, but even if he does i don't think robbo is saying that hutch is a better player than walker and that our indifferent start to the season is sam's fault at all! robbo's playing the long game
