Must be a Swans player that can do the same.

Of course there are also a range of exercises and drills as well to improve kicking technique and mechanics
Walkers ball drop is terrible and along with his lack of size is why he struggles for distance with his kicks, Cleary even in those early grand final games against the Roosters kids had a good ball drop and rotation on his kicks.
I'm sure he can improve to some degree but a lot of that stuff is learnt when you are a kid growing up.

This is bullshit, he's programmed to say that. I guess he has THE FULL SUPPORT OF THE BOARD as well. Any coach who drops Walker and runs Handbrake Hutch out at starting centre is a DOPE.

Sounds like Dolphins bound to me.

Yes he may well have. I hope so. But we don't really know.

Quotes you aren't going to hear from a contracted player:

"I didn't deserve to be dropped".

"I can't wait to move to a new club".

There have been some great small man kickers.

And I do believe that he'll now be a Dolphin either next year or after his contract expires.

On top of that I see how Souffs play such beautiful attacking footy with a less talented roster and wonder why we've looked like bumbling clowns week after week for a few years now.

Apparently the answer is that it's Walkers fault. And now we beat two average teams and all of a sudden that justifies the decision to drop Sam; who has dropped so far down the pecking order that Robbo would rather play Hutch the Slug at centre than see Manu back where he belongs and put Sam back in the team.

He'll leave over this. The words are nice but mean nothing. And we'll be left signing a Luke Brooks type to replace Keary.
              Very well said Tommy.

Haha...I wish for that raw honesty.

These are not signs of a player aggravating for a release and are consistent with his comments in the past.

Seems to have a lot of self-awareness and his head screwed on.
I agree and I really hope you are right. But he was in an interview and negative comments would have not gone down well.

We really don't know what is happening behind the scenes.

Can't believe someone took the time to interview him.

It's about time he moved to England and became a 'Star'.

Cobo did say Walters was a bad coach.

                        What a dumb bastard!

If I had to decide who stayed at the Chooks for the next decade, Sam or Robbo... I know who i'd be picking. A hint: It's not the faux-Frenchman.

Sam saying the right things. I do think he loves the club, he grew up an Easts supporter and I think the talk about him going back to QLD is all run by News Limited who own the Broncos who are still kicking themselves for choosing Brodie Croft and Cory Paix over Sam and are trying to stir the pot ever since. That being said, if he left, wouldn't begrudge him an inch given the poor treatment he's been given by our supercoach.

Yes dropping is part of the game, being made a scapegoat isn't.

I don't subscribe to the view that Robbo failed Walker in the same way that he "failed" the earlier youngsters, O'Sullivan and Flanagan. Like Walker, they were simply deemed incomplete packages for whatever reason as were Lewis and Volkman. The Clearys and Cronks are rare gems. My guess is that the decision on Walker has almost been made. He is certainly no Cronk and his size is a big negative.

I have always agreed with Mickey that Trell will not win a Premiership with Souffs but the signing of Wighton has changed my mind. Already impressive, the Bunnies will get another gear with Wighton's strike added to Trell's brilliance (what about his game V the Broncs?). Was his letting go the greatest recruitment stuff up of all time?

Yep, that’s how I’m feeling about the situation as well. Very well said.

I was glad to hear what Sam said in the interview… but since reading the posts on here… a bit of doubt has crept in now… thinking, is he planning an exit? I certainly hope not. He’s got plenty to offer… getting dropped at the start of your career doesn’t equate as at the end of your career. There’s future success here if he’s true to his word, he will reap the rewards… just got to get through the rollercoaster ride.
