With all that is going on with Sam Walker I still cant believe we would look to offload him. If Joey at 6 is what they want then should it be Keary that goes rather than Walker? 31 years old compared to a 20 year old with many years ahead?

I trust we will make the right decision.........

If they insist on the Manu/Keary combo I'd just put Walker on the bench, he's surely a much better option than Hutchison although Radley would have to go to 9 when Smith takes a spell...don't think Walker would do too well at 9

Can anyone see the big picture. Joey is learning Kearys game and style. Adding this to Joeys bow of skills will prepare him to play along with Sams game style. If Joey is our next half he has to learn how to be one from Lukes experience. Learn from an experienced half like Sam is from Cooper.
lets see if Luke gets a rest and Joey and Sam have a stint together

The halfback was out of form and the team was losing. He was dropped back to a grade where he can work on his game deficiencies. He will return to first grade when its best for him and the team. That's all

Also i have ne doubt Joeys best position is fullback, but that's obviously Teddys for the foreseeable future

A 31 year old experienced half is better than a 20 year old up & comer at this stage IMO. The best halves in the NRL are all 25 & up.

Today maybe, but in 2018 Cleary was only 20 when he played half for NSW and 23 when they won the comp in 2021. He went ok. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

It could be a halves combo of Walker and Manu post 2024 plus throw Sandon Smith and Cassius Tia into the mix as well as both highly rated by the club.

People say Manu to full back when Tedesco retires - it could well be Dominic Young as the Custodian/Fullback - the old Big Jack Gibson quote about ET springs to mind " That guy is so quick, he can switch off the light and get into bed before the room is dark.“

I’m not sure she has much to do with it but experience sure has a lot going for it.

I think Teddy's skillset is much better suited as a 5/8 compared to Joey's, he is a much better passer and kicker. Perhaps as he loses a yard of pace that would be a better option with Manu at fullback.

Cleary has had a more rounded apprenticeship playing in the Panthers Junior Pathways plus he played with a number of the Panther players in these Junior Comps

Walker had 2 NSW Cup games before selected for NRL so has had a very fast tracked apprenticeship which some will say has been detrimental in his development.

The NSW Junior pathways are far superior to the QLD ones for starters

Cleary and Walker are around the same height - Cleary 182 and Walker 183 cm - The big different is kg's - Cleary 92 and Walker 78

Walker needs to put the weight on - 10 or so kg's

I was laughed at when I said it a couple years ago. Keary will go at end of 2024. There is no way we would throw big money to compete with the likes of the Dolphins.

It is also too difficult to defend with two small halves on the field.
