  • That’s Enough Robbo

This guy is no longer a good coach… that’s no longer up for debate

Somewhere between his first year and the present he has become so full of his own self importance that his own club has become secondary to his own ridiculously misplaced woke ideals… there are so many examples of this

That’s all good and fine in a vacuum but meanwhile his teams just continue to underperform… despite having the best list in football… in fact he can barely keep them above water

He is simply not a good coach by any measure anymore and absolutely needs to go… Uncle Nick please pull the trigger and put us out of this continual misery with this weirdo in charge

I think he's still a good coach but after a decade as head coach maybe he just isn't as motivated or excited about coaching as he once was, this does happen to people where they have phenomenal ability at something but they need a change of scenery or new challenges or just don't want to do it anymore.

I'm not saying Robbo doesn't want to do it anymore but I can assure you he isn't as motivated as he once was back in 2013 or even the 2018-2019 seasons when he had the challenge of going back to back. What does he really have left to achieve that he hasn't already? He's won grand finals, he coaches some of the best players in the world, coaches a "glamour club", he has a fat contract where he's made millions as a coach, he probably has a beautiful house, car etc. What drives him after a decade? Probably not too much.

Might be time for some new blood but not in a mean spirited way, if Robbo isn't getting the job done (You'd expect at absolute minimum a prelim this year) then maybe you do consider moving him on for someone like Jason Ryles, give Robbo an amazing send off and treat him like the legend he is.

Unfortunately for Robbo's detractors he's the head coach until at least the end of the 2028 season...

All very fair points and you may have just hit the nail on the head

His motivation no longer seems there… just look at his mealy mouthed response to Victor’s head clash phantom sin binning a couple of weeks back… his heart is not in it for the side anymore and the side is responding equally

He needs to go… I certainly don’t want him here til 2028… no animosity… and many thanks… but time to go

You've made like 15 posts today all having a go at Robbo. We get it, you want him out, you only have to say it once or twice

Maybe he doesn't even have to go, I'm sure he could be moved on from coaching into another role within the mighty Roosters that might be more challenging for him but I'm at least willing to give him this season to see if he can turn things around, we did have a bad patch last year as well but stormed home leading into the final before bottling it.

If he doesn't deliver at least a prelim this year I'd consider moving him on as the 2020s would look like the following:

2020 - Top 4 finish where we crashed out in straight sets

2021 - Barely squeaked past a Titan's side we were expected to do very well against, then got belted by Manly 42-6

2022 - One of the most frustrating finals performances I've seen as we play Souths and are embarrassed by them. Crash out in Round 1 of the finals losing 30-14.

Unacceptable if we don't go deep this year.

I think Robinson is a good man manager but not a great tactical coach. He won premierships when we had great leaders in the team such as SBW and Jimmy Maloney in 2013 and then Cronk and Co in 2018 and 2019. Without good leaders/managers in the team he seems lost. Reminds me of Stuart in 2002 to 2004 with Fitler and post Filter when he was lost and shown the door. I also note he does so many other non-roosters related interviews and articles in the media. These seem to be smoke screens and taking away from his real job of coaching the roosters. You don't see Bellamy and Bennett in the media speaking about greater political issues.

Yeah I completely agree… something significant needs to occur at the end of this year

But I just don’t see it happening after yesterday… or indeed after any game this season so far… that can change and I certainly hope so… but this would be the last chance saloon after all the failures that you mention… because I just don’t see the deal with this coach anymore

People seem to forget… we’re not the Tigers… we have a seriously loaded list every year… these are all underwhelming results

I’ve noticed you can’t ever seem to comment on anything here Salvo without resorting to ad hominem attacks

Doesn’t say much for your own sense of worth

No clue what this means... is this because I questioned your loyalty to Hutcho?

Who me? I have no loyalty to Hutchinson… he’s the worst Rooster I’ve seen since Kurt Sherlock
