  • Our next coach - Craig Fitzgibbon

How long did Fitzy sign with the Sharks? If Robbo were to leave, whether that be forced or retire, we should do everything we can to bring Fitzy home to Easts. I'm sure one day he will be our first grade coach.

He is signed till end of 2027

I'd have Fittler back or Fitzgibbons although Fitzy is tied to the Sharks for 5 years. Robinson has run his path. Time for a change. I still reckon Bellamy is worth a try.

We can have Freddy as long as he’s not allowed to make team selections.

Bellamy is the sort of coach that will rapidly provide an attitude adjustment and sort out our discipline. You almost need a hardarse like him for a year or two to wash the Robbo crap out of our system (the Roosters Way) and piss off some of those still playing on reputation before bringing in someone like Fitzy as long-term coach.

I would have Fitzy over Robbo at this stage every day of the week. People saying he is overrated, he has Cronulla firing as a Top 4 side with a team of relative unknowns and hasbeens. He has Matt fking Moylan playing quality footy and helped turn a bench utility into a Dally M winner.

Did you think that after we beat Souths?

Fitzy is a club legend and is a fantastic coach. I agree he has been running rings around Robbo since departing.

Does not matter who coaches us, the refs will continue to bend us over. This is not saying in any way corruption exists

Watch that win against Souths again... we were so lucky to win that, they should have beaten us by 20.

I hope that one close victory doesn’t end up being the highlight of our season. I can’t speak for others, but for me, absolutely Fitzy over Robbo after the South’s game. We had a “Roosters Way” ending in that game and all but lost it in the dying minutes. I reckon Fitzy would have us finishing off more games than we do.

Robbo has lost the plot, making a simple game look like rocket science. We just need a change, plenty of coaches who could do just as well with the roster he has had.

I've thought about it sporadically for the last year or so and more so given Robbo's increasingly bizarre and unnecessary comments and decisions.

Is there any chance Politis and Bennett have made up? Heard a cracker of a rumour from an older guy I bumped into at Merewether beach about a month ago, as I was wearing my Roosters cap. He reckons they have patched up their relationship and he is still a chance to still one day coach the Roosters. I was dismayed and brushed it aside as just talk. He went on to say that he is friendly with some players and had a coffee with Boyd Corner not long ago. I can't see it happening, but you never know in this game.
