Good to see the consensus largely turning on our "guru" coach in light of recent braindead decisions. Not teflon after all.

With that said, I think he has developed some really good footy players. He has developed Manu and Latrell. He developed Toops into an all-time club legend. Got the best out of unknown forwards like SST (another legend), Tetevano, developed Matto into a backrower/ball playing middle. Developed Radley (although he is undoing it now).

So yeah he has developed but I get your point. Seems like he can't quite go all the way unless he cherry picks someone and puts them in the team. We'll see what happens with Walker, not holding my breath. You could argue nearly everyone is the same. The Riff have developed nearly their entire roster as juniors but still needed Api from Manly to complete their spine, now they're struggling to replace him with their own and will probably go to market for a 9. They'd beat us tonight with Cleary's daughter playing 9 though...

Lats and Manu are natural footballers who would have succeeded anywhere.

However it has been a few years....

IMO its the young crop of forwards coming through that the "Roosters Way" seems to fail

Faamausili, DSF, Hau Tapuha, Baker, Verrills.....Collins is the only forward that has come through recently that has seemed to kick on.

Even Sam Walker is on the outer and we are looking to sign Pearce if you believe reports.
It seems to me if younger players don't fire straight away the plan is to just replace with a 30yr old (Pearce, Brown, Lodge, Napa)
