I'd take Ryles, he has had a pretty good coaching run:

Club: Melbourne Storm Assistant Coach (2 Premiership wins 2017, 2020) and of course us.

Rep: U20's NSW Blues Assistant Coach, Junior Kangaroos Assistant Coach and a brief stint as the England skills coach.

    ---

Don't know how he'd go as you said but to me that's a pretty decent resume, of course St George are sniffing around for him though so if we wanted to go with Ryles we'd have to act quickly. I don't see the Roosters being ruthless enough to cut Robbo before the end of this season though and even then I feel like they'd stick with him in 2024 if he made the 8 which I think we'll sneak into like we did last year.

If we were to go with Ryles I'd want an experienced coach to assist him with things so the club would need to spend some money and find someone with head coaching experience to be an assistant to Ryles. Maybe Nathan Brown? If I recall he struggled with the pressures of being a head coach but maybe an assistant role would be more his style? He does have 400+ games of NRL experience and has been praised as a coach that can get help rebuild teams which is what we need right now.

It's never easy when a team has enjoyed success like what we have over the last 10 years.
You have to be realistic though in your expectations. We have won four premierships in around the last 45 years and when you have the best roster, it's only natural that you might jag a few in quick succession like what Parra, Canterbury, Canberra, Brisbane , Manly and Melbourne all did. It's likely now we are on a bit of a downward spiral and that's just the way things work out sometimes.

Losing Fitzy was a huge loss IMO but then you also just can't expect to replicate what Friendy, Cords and Aubbo brought to the team and so it's easy to point the finger at Robbo and blame him.

Time for Nick and Robbo to be ruthless and shake things up a bit, give Robbo another year and if no difference, then I reckon we should look at alternatives.

Yeah he sometimes outsmarts himself with all the goobly gook he says.

But in the end it's a simple game.

Turn up switched-on, follow the instructions & have pride in the jersey.

No shame in losing to a better team but what we have become is painful.

Was expecting a good response due to all the negative press during the week but after 15min we just folded.

That loss was a statement on Robbo's decisions the last few weeks.

He has painted himself into a corner.

How so mate? Genuine Q. You and I usually like minded.

Painted himself into the corner with lunatic team selections or his overall demeanor and comments as of late? Because he actually got something right tonight by having Turpin on the bench over Hutch. Sam obviously needed to be there and JS put on the wing...

I think something that was telling was at start of the game he made a point to say our effort was good and that Teddy saying we were "as low as he's seen" wasn't related to effort (even though it was). Then in the post-match he says, "it goes back to our effort being down the last few weeks". Which one is it Trent?!

Personally I'd go all out for Fitzy. Big deal that he is signed long-term. Contracts don't matter. He would leave in a heartbeat I reckon. Clearly a lifetime Rooster.

Give Robbo until end of the season though. If he fails to make the 8 with this roster, he signs his own walking papers.

Both have given great service over a long time but their time is clearly up. We need to move on and move on fast.

As I said earlier this week, Uncle Nick needs to throw everything at Bellamy. But right now, I'd take anyone other than Robbo.
I'd be all for a rebuild. Ryles comes in as head coach, Keary sent out with a great farewell game and off to England, Suaalii allowed to go early for Union which would free up some space for a great 5/8 or Halfback to play with Walker in 2024. Unfortunately as much as I love him I'd probably move Tupou on as well simply because of his age, our future left wing prospect should be Dom Young (Don't think he's a centre)

If we could get Luke Brooks or Ben Hunt somehow for 2024 along with Spencer Leniu and Dom Young I think we'd be a lot stronger.

                1. Tedesco 2. Young 3. Smith 4. Manu 5. Paulo 6. Walker 7. Brooks (More realistic than Hunt imo) 8. Leniu 9. Smith 10. Collins 11. Crichton 12. Nat Butcher 13. Radley

                14. Watson 15. JWH 16. Lodge 17. Sitili

Just seems much stronger and fresher. Good focus on young fellas but still some old experienced heads around. It's a bit sad that the Roosters are relying on a 34 year old JWH to push the forwards hard when he was supposed to be a bench prop as of last year...

Too many mixed messages from him. Kind of like he cant leave his own stubborn bubble in fear of being told he got it wrong.

He portrayed Walker as the one who needed to lift his game & go back & work on things but then comes out in the presser & says he hasn't prepared the team properly these last few games & the buck stops with him.

It's made Walker into a scapegoat for his coaching shortfalls of late & ostracised Walker from the team.

Ironic now with Manu injured he now needs Walker back who is now himself injured who shouldn't have been playing in that team on that given day.

Now I'm starting to think there's possibly bigger problems than just his team selections.

The 6 again rule killed Robbo in my opinion

Before that we were a top defensive unit and flying high

If we keep heading into this downward spiral for the rest of the year then give anyone who has some form of credentials a crack.

If you don't give someone a go you will never ever know.

Did we all think Robbo would be that good in his first 7yrs? I certainly didn't.

He probably needs a change himself elsewhere after 11yrs. Might be better for both parties.

You were going alright until you mentioned Luke Brooks.

Haha, I'd take a punt on him! I think around a good team where the pressure is not solely on him could see him really thrive. Also, unfortunately for us unless Ben Hunt leaves when Griffin leaves he is probably the only valid first grade option that is available.

There needs to be a clean out of the player roster. Like I wrote earlier, lots of players living off old dreams and past glories. If I was in charge, this is who would go at the end of the year.

Suaali'i, Tedesco, Keary, Paulo, and, sadly, JWH.

Manu to fullback, bring in an old head 5/8th to mentor Walker for a year or so. Not Brooks as the only danger he poses to oppositions is the shrapnel when he goes to pieces under pressure. Ben Hunt if the spit hits the fan at the Dragqueens or even Maloney being dragged out of retirement.

I know it was one game and against the Bulldogs but Ronald Volkman showed more in 80 minutes than Keary has in nearly two years.

They are just going through a tough period but I am sure as a united group and focused on getting back on track they will come out the other side.

The current results unfortunately are given those with an axe to grind against Coach Robinson for a variety of reasons and quite a few non football related oxygen which hopefully won't be for long.

Luke Brooks ...... we are really scrapping the barrel aren't we when fans think Luke Brooks might be the answer. As a player I don't think any half in the NRL era would have a lower winning percentage. No thanks
