People on here would rather be nostalgic and bury their heads in the past sands of success ..

If Walker walks.. Can we please go for Shaun Johnson or Ben Hunt ( I know.. slim ) ..

These are established Halves who can direct and lead

Keary isn’t a halfback and this isn’t his fault.
You should bury your head with that suggestion

Why? I don’t think Keary is a halfback either. He’s always been best as a running 6 at Souffs and the Roosters. His lack of organising skill is why Cronk was forced to play a grand final with a broken collarbone.

Both are much better 7’s than Keary IMHO. Keary has been a terrific 6, but he’s not an organiser.

We definitely agree on Keary. I just don’t think the other two are a long term option. I think we look to a developing 5/8 like the Dolphins have of maybe give sanding smith a go as the organiser to work with Walker.

I’m all for giving Smith a shot. I remember Jack Gibson gave a very young pairing of Peter Stirling and Brett Kenny an opportunity at the Eels and they went ok. IMO the best ever half/five-eighth combo in the history of the game. Could Walker/Smith be the next great pairing?
