  • 14 Games to go.

I've got us winning 6 of our next 14, maybe 7 maximum, which will not put us in the 8.
Last year I put $1000 on us to MAKE the 8 after the loss to Penrith when we had to win 8 straight to do it.
What a stupid bet that was , but it got up.
To make the top 4 we have to win 11 of 14 , no chance.
That would give us 16 wins from 24 games which I think is what you will need.
To make the 8 from here we need to win at least 9 of the next 14.
Plus we would need to improve our for and against by plenty.
Thats about 65%...... I don't think we can do it.
I always only wanted to see the Roosters put in a good TEAM performance, win or lose didn't matter, as long as they showed fight, and effort, that was back in the day when we were a team of no names.
Now when we are supposed to be a team of stars it's so disappointing to see them put in performances like they have this season.
It's not all the coach's fault, but a lot of it is on him.
When the message gets garbled or too hard to understand, and the plans don't work, the players stop listening.
Obviously they are not a TEAM, they are individuals, some very highly paid, and I think the coach has lost a few of them.
It's not going to change, I've followed them for 65 years, all the fans who started following them 25 years ago have never known hard times.
    Well now they will.

Our boss doesn’t put up with mediocrity. If we don’t make the 8 big changes are coming.

    Hope you are well Kid.

Unless we have a stack of injuries I still have us making the 8. Probably no further though.

Souffs and Riff GF. Even typing it makes me wanna vomit

Spot on. Those of us that have lived through some of East’s darkest times do not want to see a return to those days, or even a hint of it. That’s why we passionately refuse to accept mediocrity from this team or coach.

Is that factoring a loss against the Dragoons next week? We were lucky to beat them on Anzac Day.

              Possible finish:

              Dragons away Win
              Bulldogs home Win
              Panthers home Loss
              Knights away Win
              Canberra home Loss
              Sea Eagles Away Win
              Storm home Loss
              Titans away Win
              Broncos away Loss
              Sea Eagles home Win
              Dolphins home Win
              Eels away Win
              Tigers home Win
              Rabbitohs away Loss

              9 wins. 5 Losses.
Assume we’ll lose to all teams above us, win against those clearly below, and compete with those mid pack like us.

The way I'm feeling at the moment, they'll lose all of those matches. But more seriously, how do you have them beating Manly?
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

If you are right we still are no certainty of making the 8, unless there are some very big wins amongst them, which I can't see happening. I think you are very optomistic predicting we will beat Manly twice, Titans away, and Dolphins. Only way I can see it changing is if Walker gets back at half, Suaali back to wing and Manu and keary back in position and Turpin or Watson on the bench and the Handbrake nowhere near the top squad.
If Trent does that we MIGHT make the 8.

Mmm Trent may be the exception. Didn't he say he has a contract for life if he wants it ?

Playing around with the ladder predictor, given the 17 team comp a 13-11 record could see you finish as low as 10th. I think you’re absolutely right it’s probably going to be an uphill battle to even scrape into the 8

Particularly given our appalling for and against

                        I haven't enjoyed a season less since 2016.

I reckon we'll beat them by plenty.

This is why a strong start is so important, some people here will say "Well comps aren't won in May" which is true but results in May absolutely mean plenty come September. We'd be in a much better spot if we had beaten the Cowboys and Dolphins who we should have easily ran over.

I think we will just scrape into the 8 but probably got bundled out in week 1 or 2 again. If we finish 8th I'd predict us to play the likes of Melbourne, Cronulla or Manly and they'll easily take care of us the way we've been playing lately.

Of course the Roosters could find some incredible form and win the comp though...that's up to Robbo and the players

When you are counting how many rounds are left to " fingers crossed " just make the 8 - you know you ain't travelling to well. What a rabble.
