It is the Dragoons we're talking about. A front office that resembles a circus.

Some of the takes regarding Keary in this thread are just numbskull stuff.

A 5/8 who has won three premierships (inc Clive Churchill performance in 2018) has 'never really been that good anyway' according to some on here.

He is currently not doing well, but you cannot take his past success away from him.

I think I might soon move on from this forum soon.

Some of the takes are just mind blowingly stupid.

Keary was a gun. A great of our club. Definitely can't forget or dismiss what he has done. In saying that, his best days are well and truly gone and the club needs.to and will look forward

He is just out of form like the majority of the squad. If our forwards can manage winning the middle and rolling down the field he will shine.

I presume targeted at me. I think you need to learn to read dude. I said he is not the superstar you think he is. Very easy to pin 2017 solely on Pearce, 2020 solely on Flanagan, etc. The reality is Keary a good 5/8th but not the superstar leader or organiser that you think he is. I won't say his premiership mean nothing but I do think you exaggerate the importance. Momo a premiership winning mediocre player, Wighton a non-premiership winning star. Take your rose-tinted glasses off and understand why they marked him "never to return" to NSW SOO team.

IMO this is where people need to calm down a little. A big reason why clubs like the Doggies are shyte is that they've sacked a good coach, sacked a stack of good players and then been left in a position where there's nobody left to blame.

A fark load of people are to blame right now!!! However it's not at the point where we wanna be asking Robbo, Keary, Walker, Manu, Cheese, Teddy, Hutcho, Sua'ali'i...etc to go.

Why not? Well then we're stuck with a bunch of reserve graders who are gonna get beaten even more badly and people are gonna start saying 'I didn't sign-up to play for a team that's ostensibly the Bears and is being coached by somebody who's never won a premiership'. Cards start falling... suddenly we're 17th and losing to the Tigpies instead of being 10th and getting embarrassed by the Panthers.

Yes shyte has to change. However, we want the players we've got to start playing like we know they can!!!!

If Robbo, Teddy, Keary, Walker, Cheese, Manu, Sua'ali'i and friends all got sacked tomorrow then I can guarantee they'd sign elsewhere and put us to the sword. Also they would NOT be replaced by Bellamy, Ponga, Mad Dog, Hunt, Grant, Olam and Cobbo. I have NFI what other coach of Robbo's calibre we'd sign (there are none) and people wouldn't be excited about the prospect of taking unders to play for us.

It's been a shyte few years but we're still consistently making the finals and have had some respectable wins (including against Souffs and Parra this year).

The media's talking about how good Penrith are rather than saying 'they only won because Easts are shyte'. IMO we don't need to start burning the house down... we need our players to somehow gel and start playing the footy that we know they're capable of.

Ad hominem is not an argument. We have two small halves that are difficult to protect defensively, and neither has a long kicking game. The argument for paying big money to maintain the status quo, with ongoing concussion risk as well for Keary, is what exactly?

And if you don't think the status quo should be maintained do you show loyalty to Keary? or do you keep the rising star?

Are you referring to ‘they’ as others on the site or the pronoun you use for yourself?

Because I’m reading it as ‘they’ meaning you, have no say.

Heaven knows the club doesn’t want to be guided by an internet search engine.

Keary has more to offer but not as a halfback.

                            2024 - 7 Hunt, 6 Keary/Walker
                            2025 - 7 Hunt, 6 Walker

Keary is no doubt the better player than Walker this year and probably next year. I just doubt we will risk losing Walker and pay big money for a surplus half.

If we do in fact sign Hunt it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Or was it Kalyn Ponga? I heard he's sick of Jackson Hastings and figured we're the only club where he'll never have to play with him again.

Yeah nah - we're outta money and aren't signing anybody. We've got the best roster in the comp and just need to start driving it properly instead of rattling up through Oxford St, Darlo to Bondi in peak hour, driving a Lambo... riding the clutch the whole way and occasionally bunny-hopping forward in first. Then stalling and looking like a wanka trying to start the thing (likely somehow flooding the engine in the process, though this theoretically shouldn't be possible).
                                Lol… great analogy!
