    LOL

Overall though, he was magnificent for us.
If he can produce 'Jake clones', we'll be winners again.

He has reportedly knocked back the dragons offer and is going to the storm as an assistant..

Must say the way he has handled this has been awful and I have lost respect for the bloke. Burned some bridges at the chooks and I’m sure the dragons won’t be too happy with him. Seems hardly worth ruining his reputation for jumping from one assistant role to another.

More a sign of lack of confidence in progressing his career under our Guru. Bad sign for internal cohesion. Friend or Cordner are not the answer either.

Maybe. It was reported that Uncle Nick wasn’t happy he was negotiating with others when he gave his word on his contract with us that was suppose to end at the end of 2025 I think.

I’m sure Ryles hasn’t gained many friends during this coaching drama situation, surely integrity comes before anything else..

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Jason!

Looks like he thinks he'll get the Storm job after Bellamy finishes next year. That was always his first preference, and why he initially said he wasn't interested in the Dragons gig.

The way he has handled this does not reflect well on him. Ambition trumps all it seems.

Ryles is no fool. He’s going to wait until the right head coaching job comes up instead of jumping at the first cab off the rank. look how many gigs Fitzy was offered prior to finally taking the sharks role. Your first job as a head coach can destroy your career if you agree to go to a dud side.

I reckon Ryles is hoping to do another 2-3 years under Bellamy then take over at the storm as head coach

Ryles has always been a wanker. Hopefully this is the end of him at Easts permanently.

You’re not wrong there Voodoo mun. The guy has basically held us hostage for many weeks. Couldn’t give a shit about our club. Hopefully he chokes in a first grade gig like his mate Barrett.

What a load of garbage. The bulk of up and coming coaches would give their right nut to get into our system under robbo

The roosters are fed up with being a transit longe for assistant coaches looking for a short cut into a head coach role hence why we’ll look to develop from within. Nick values loyalty over everything else.

Expect JWH and probably Keary to follow friend, aubo, morris and coroner into the coaching / management ranks

The garbage is what our GURU coach has been dishing up all season.

This has been really poorly handled.

Not unhappy to see him leave given the lack of integrity he has displayed.

Our defence has been nothing to get too excited about for a while now so I don't see it really affecting us.

Isn’t it sad to think he knocked back coaching a team that just beat us though… shows where we are at right now unfortunately

                                Spot on.

Pure speculation from my own head obviously but you'd imagine given the acrimony that has surrounded his decision making recently, he probs got a tip off that Billy Slater wasn't interested in the Storm gig and that Bellamy might very given him assurances of the Storm job in a couple seasons time.

Then his decision would be, join a struggling merger club with a board full of fossils and a team that hasn't performed in years or wait a little longer and take over arguably the best run club in the game.

There have been a number of one and done coaches in recent years after they failed at a bottom 8 club (Brennan, Dean Pay, Barrett) and Ryles didn't want to keep the trend going.

Either way, he better hope it pays off for him otherwise he has done his dash at multiple clubs and other clubs will look at him with gritted teeth aswell were he ever to negotiate elsewhere. Good luck to him, can't fault ambition. It's his career nobody else's. Didn't seem to be doing much with us anyway given our output this season.
