As I understand it, the new Salary Cap has not actually been signed off yet. The RLPA recommended that clubs pay their players at the old rate this year, the NRL recommended otherwise. Some clubs are paying players under the new cap arrangement, some aren't. It's a ludicrous situation that speaks volumes to the unprofessional administration of the game.

so long as the price is right i'd love to sign him for 3 years. he was great last year for an extended period and even pretty good when he first came on last week, although in the second half he forced a few balls. with jwh going i'd rate him a priority. i mean i don't know what's happening with him off the field but if the club are happy to offer him one more year then it can't be too bad

People posted on here that he was wanting 800k per season or something in that vicinity which is over the top - Lodge has mobility problems in D and in keeping up with the pace of the modern game

If you compare Lodge with say Hass - same weight and similar heights it's chalk and cheese as far as that goes

Lodge - 191 cm - 117 kgs - 27 - 28 end of May

Haas - 194 cm - 117 kgs - 23 - 24 early December

JWH and Lodge shouldn't be on the field at the same time as teams certainly target the middle when both are on the field.- one starts and the other comes off the bench would be the best option going forward

I can’t see the downside either in terms of what he delivers on the field; he’s been pretty bloody good since joining us. I can’t speak for his off field stuff though and whether or not there’s issues with team mates or the management.
