  • If you were Robbo’s Assistant what would be your advice?

If I had the chance and Robbo agreed to implement one recommendation of mine it would have to be - ‘meticulous ball handling’. I think that mastering this one aspect of our game would make us a real competition threat.

    KISS
    Focus on high completions rates.
Better last tackle options. If we're going to kick then FFS either kick it deep or compete for it.

I wonder how fit our team is because we have a very poor kick and chase and follow through putting no pressure at all on our opponents. I noticed last game we were spectating not getting involved. Unfit?

Fitness has been a concern of mine for a while now. We appear puffed after only 20 mins in most games.

address giving away penalties in opposition half....we give too many teams a easy ride downfield

I think KISS is the perfect part for robbo
allthough you need to create new ideas and plays don’t overthink the game, it is really quite simple
            - win the battle of territory and field position
            - put a huge aim on not giving so many penalaties away and ball control
            - the third one which I think everyone on the chookpen can agree
play guys in their correct position
of something is not working starting with players in their position is a start
Walker is a 7 and we need him for attack
keary is a 6 and needs to be on his correct side
manu is a centre of fullback, not a 6 as he does not pass
            suaali to wing or res
            - we need to use our back line more for cross field kicks, I predicted we would score 2-3 per game with Tupou, suaali, manu and paulo out there

Yeah Tracky, that’s because all we do is DEFEND after giving the ball away and fricken 6 agains against us by the DH refs

                Too late for advice.
He should never have taken Suaalii off the wing,
or dropped Walker, he should have COACHED him,
or had Handbrake in the 17, he just lowers the bar,
or bought Smith as a hooker,
                or moved Manu to 5/8,
                or Keary to half.
He should never have said the words Roosters Footy.
                or started with 2 butchers
Now he has a bunch of guys who are confused, lacking confidence, have no cohesion.
They can all play footy, they should all be fit, if he can't get them to gel he ain't no guru.
Confidence comes from working your ass off and then KNOWING you can do the job, because you have done the work.
Confidence in the bloke next to you comes from the same thing.
What a shame it is to see such a talented group look like a rabble.
The only advice would be STOP what you are doing, and START again.

No short line kick offs for a start we suck.
Kick long and kick early then defend hard.
Joseph to the wing or Union .
Give Brown a crack at 14
Manu back to center even Hutch is better

Take a nice long holiday....give yourself (and the players) a break.

I would love to see Robbo take Bondi Boy as his assistant and leave him in charge of team selections. Would certainly be an interesting time

Mine would be defend out the entire set.

Teams run on the last play against us now (with great success) because as soon as it’s 5th tackle, it’s tools down and our defence completely shuts down. Our kick defusal has cost us big time too (just look back at the cows game).
