  • Bears New Melb Storm Feeder Club

Dean Ritchie article online Daily Tele today.
North Sydney Bears to be Melb Storm feeder club from 1 Nov...ending 5 year feeder club partnership with Sydney Roosters.

Do we have any players at the Bears we want?
If so, better get after them before the Storm arrive.

Any players in NSW Cup we want? better sign them too.

    Central Coast?
    Sign them also.

Do we have any talent scouts searching high and low, Aust/ Pacific/NZ/PNG/Eng/France/USA for new players?

    Storm found:
    . Christian Welch
    . Nicho Hynes
    . Tui Kamikamica
    and their new sensation
    William Warbrick.
    Why didn't we find them?
    Were we looking hard enough?

I better not see Junior Pauga scoring hatricks for fun in a Storm jersey....

      2 year deal

It will interesting how this works and the affect this could have on the Roosters at both a Junior and Senior Pathway Level

The Storm will be fielding a Harold Matthews Cup side as well in 2024. - Norths at this stage will still field their own Junior Pathway sides in 2024.

      Junior Pathways - 2023

Norths - Harold Matthews Cup , SG Ball and Tarsha Gale Cup sides

Storm - SG Ball and Jersey Flegg sides

      Senior Pathways- 2023

Norths - Knock on Effect NSW Cup and Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership sides

i would gab Tyrell May, Junior Pauga, Josh Bergamin, as priorities with Tuipoloto, Katoa, Reubin Porter Ben Thomas and seconds and questions lay on the Marschke brothers where do you play them. ones a half and ones a hooker. The bears do lead the comp.

Cant get a look in as the club is more set on the continual selection of a centre who clearly isn't up to it on the off chance he will return here in 5 years. It's actually embarrassing now

Storm seem to do everything right in terms of their pathways and junior development so them seeing some value in a partnership with the Bears is telling...

As far as I know (someone like Queen Sally will know), Terrell May and those others that have played a fair chunk of first grade games are part of our Top 30 and therefore will be contracted to us next year.

If the bastards are so good at pathways and development why haven't we seen any Victorians in the NRL ?
It's a joke having a Melbourne team in the comp.

I reckon any player that has previously had an affiliation with the Roosters will probably jump across and sign developmental/nsw cup contracts - Porter, Thomas, Marschke x 2

Yeah well they are good talent developers not miracle workers, nobody plays league in Victoria... their pathways are all focused in QLD but yeah I understand your point

Just under 10,000 registered Rugby League players in Melbourne, Just over 100,000 in NSW.

Proportionate to the number of clubs in NSW it’s not a bad spread to be fair.

wonder what the contract situations are - there must be some norths players contracted for next year to play for norths? hopefully the fact that we've got our own reserves now means that we've signed every one we're interested in

The storm still cant get a junior system up and running after what, 30 years?

Yet we get hammered yearly about our juniors.....
