roz and Mack, you've both forgotten about Luke Towers. Deliberate or mistake?
Oh, and why the rush to get the Cordners in to First Grade? They are boys, give them time.
as mack said, towers will be too old for NYC next year.
there is no rush for me with the cordners and i agree. I think dane is the great modern day prop as he has the power and aggression to mix it with the big boys but he isnt overbuilt which means he is handy around the ruck, will have the capacity for big minutes and is a player that up against smart fsat hookers like luke and farah, will not be easily exploited as he is much more agile around the ruck which is handy. Boyd is a freak enough said. No rush we need to get it right with these 2. we signed boyd and then dane left because of the mistreatment of his bro and also wasnt happy with being left out of the NYC team consistently and the NYC system at the knights so came down to us. Im not complaining 2 great players
I don't think he will play first grade next year, as Jacob Miller, Cheyse Blair, Ethan Lowe and Joseph Leilua (coming from Dragons next year) are our VERY young talent.
The only of the REALLY young kids who I think will be ready to play some first grade next year is Boyd Cordner.
I think he will

How would you describe Boyd Cordner as a player? I havn't seen him play but have only heard wraps.
honestly, i cant find words he doesnt have any flaws. He is 188cm tall and pushing 90kgs which for a 17 year old is massive. He has the workrate of fitzy with the toughness and agression of crocker. He can play minutes, hits hard in defence and makes plenty of tackles. Like fitz and crocker has a strong and powerful running game except is the modern day version meaning he can hit a hole running wide and has good hands and skills. He is a very complete footballer. Size, minutes, ticker, skill, power, leadership, toughness and isnt slow - has the mobility to play in a fast game and the size to play in a grind
1. Cheyse Blair
2. Andrew Haines
3. JP Du Plessis
4. Ryan Williamson
5. Fine Moeakiola
6. Brad Murray
7. Jacob Miller
8. Isaac Maliota
9. Olireti Samuelu
10. Dane Cordner
11. Boyd Cordner
12. Ethan Lowe
13. Joseph Leilua
14. Tom Pelo
15. Sam Brunton
16. Jerome Leolahi
17. Andrew Clayton
A top 4 side IMO next season. The backline is big and strong and still have the pace to match it with the best. If Williamson moves up to NRL, we've got Anthony Gelling who is also a good player. Moeakiola and Du Plessis should get some gametime in the NRL next season and Blair maybe because he is still very young.
Our halves will be the key to our success, as with any team. If they can reach their potential, the rest of the team will click and we'll have a very successful team.
The forward pack should be nicknamed Monster Pack. Massive boys who can do a lot of damage. The Cordner brothers will lead the way and will attempt to rip right through the middle of the opposition, and will be ably supported by Maliota, Lowe and Leilua. Boyd Cordner I expect to see gametime in the NRL although I think it's best we let him develop a bit more but that's just me.
The bench will probably be one of the best in the comp. A lot of Junior Reps experience there and will add a lot of impact when they come on.
I mentioned Towers above. He is going to be 21 next year, not anymore eligible for NYC>
I doubt there's a place for him then, unless he plays wing and is groomed for Mini's retirement. I still havent seen anything outstanding from him. He's a solid player nothing more.

I doubt Leolahi will be on the bench, he will most likely be captain, with Leilua on the bench for impact. It shows that there is at least some depth, when Grant Nelson (I think you were a little harsh not including him, tough and brave kid), Matt Hands, Tufuga Sa, Tim Condon, Floyd Cromer (only played 1 match this year but looked pretty good), Cyprian Ale and Boyd Strickland all miss out.
I just realised, you didn't name Valeni Tia Tia. That guy is a tank too...

There certainly will be a lot of depth next season with a fair number returning for their 2nd year in NYC. You've mentioned the above boys not being able to get a spot in what I think would be the team next year. I'll explain why and you might not agree. I think if Nelson is to get a spot on the team, he will most likely get it at fullback. I can't see him playing on the wing as he doesn't have the height, nor the strength to counter some of the best wingers in the comp. If the club choose to play Blair in SG Ball first, Nelson will start at fullback. Sa has the same problem but just as a winger. But he is a very handy back-up for Haines or Moeakiola. Can play in the centres also. On Floyd Cromer, I think that was a typo, it was Boyd Cordner playing in that number. On Tia Tia, he is turning 21 next year so that rules him as ineligible for NYC. Strickland can force his way into the team but we have a lot of good backrowers next season in NYC and will have to show something a little extra I think. I think I'll agree with you on Leolahi being captain. I forgot about that fact so I'd move Leolahi into lock, Leilua to the 2nd row, and Lowe onto the bench. If you have not seen Leilua play, check him out. The black version of Boyd Cordner. Very, very strong and hits like a semi-trailer.

just on leilua, im glad someone here has seen him play. what else can you tell us about his game. Is he massive and therefore maybe a little slow, skillful, whats his attitude like, can he play minutes and is he comparable to cornder. If so then he is bloody good. Aloso, do you see him as potentially better than cherro? cheers

I have seen him play, and would go as far as saying he is another clone of Boyd Cordner. He is about the same size as Cordner, seems to have the right attitude, can play 80 minutes if need be and just monsters players. Was very suprised to see him overlooked for NSW Under 18 honours but has just made the transition from the centres and into the backrow for the attributes I listed before. Potentially, I would say he can be better than Cherrington but he is only young. Time will tell but O'Sullivan is definitely recruiting young players with the following skills - toughness, courage, attitude. These are attributes that separate great players that don't make it and great players that do. I'm really liking what O'Sullivan is doing.
