  • Dylan Napa

Another one of our promising Toyota Cup guys has made his way to Newtown Jets. I really rate this kid and I believe it won't belong before he features in the top grade

You've gotta love the big rednut!! He goes hard all game, never slows down. Against the Broncos he was coming out of the line and sitting everyone on their arse all the way up til the final whistle. Takes the hard runs when no other forwards are putting their hands up. And always in the middle of any biff on the field. The kid has origin player written all over him. Too bad he's a queenslander. We're gonna have one hell of a forward pack in a couple of years time when Evans, Napa and Tago graduate.

Yak, what about the other U20's front rower called John Asiata. Very underestimated IMO.
For a big unit hasn't he got a top shelf step and ball skills to go with it.
Turns out he was a five-eighth growing up but adolescence got the better of him.

Compliments Evans very well, would be a great replacement for Masoe, I'm just not sure where Evans fits into the picture atm.

Kennedy, Napa, Jwh & Tasi is a really good balance of workrate and strong running. One of Tasi or Jared would have to move to the backrow but that looks unlikely if we sign SBW.

Yeah he's been really impressive. Makes good metres for the minutes he gets and has probably the best long spiral pass I've ever seen a prop possess. There was a game not long ago where he had a big part in a couple of set plays and it made me think if this bloke can pass like that why can't Anasta haha. I can't seem to get the NYC team announcement page up but I'd imagine he'd be pushing for a starting spot with Napa at Newtown, although they have been favouring Vunipola to start this year, another player who has gained my respect this season. Had no heart from what I saw last season but he seems to have had a transplant.

I think it's a bit tough on Evans to say he misses out because his workrate isn't high enough when he generally has the same amount of runs (and a similar number of tackles) a game as Napa. The difference is he's probably averaging 2-3m further per run. I think Kane would give our team a lot more than Masoe at the moment. Even if he doesn't make over 10m a run as Masoe does, you can be assured that he'll put his hand up more often. That being said, Napa has a lower error rate and is a better defender. Evans does offer second phase play though and that is something we don't get with our front rowers often. It's a shame Kennedy went away from that cos I thought his offloads were very effective in the Canberra game.

If Napa can knock out similar numbers for Newtown this week with no errors then it would probably be 50/50 as to who will get first shot. I think all the forward pack needs is the front-rowers to find an extra 2 runs per game each and that would improve a lot of the sets coming out of our own end. Replace Masoe with either one of Napa or Evans and you've probably added 4 hard runs right there.

Massive fan. Love his aggressive streak. I think Evans is the much better prospect but I would hate, HATE, to lose either of them.

The most pleasing thing about the Tigers game was the form of Kennedy. I am hoping he stays injury free and continues to improve. Kennedy/Cordner are our future. They love the club which is all important. Throw in JWH, FPN, Napa and Evans, and let's forget about Perrets brother.

Why do you always get it wrong? Evans is our best front row prospect. Granted you don't like the metre eating front rower, rather a guy who grafts 80 metres a match but Kennedy has done nothing to be a walk up start.
