well i hope smith gives up and leaves morts alone, lets henry and moga back to the jets and let them have a chance at the finals.
smith has had his final roll (about 4 times now) and has killed these guys. leane maderson tweam alone and let get to the finals. the next 4 games are tuff. north sydney windsor west tigas are all aabove the jets on the ladder. mandy is next week and they are lower. the boys got bashed last week because of matterson having a anderson moment, running killah as a full back.wtf.

Normally I'd say bugger Newtown, 3 days after the grandfinal, nobody will remember who won the comp anyway, but I have lost so much enthusiasm for first grade, I dont care if they miss out on valuable experience, by not finishing the year off in firsts, although, they are 100 to 1, to win it, those sides above them, are good sides, well trained, and ready to kick butt.

Jets are up 14 - 6 after 30 mins, a Tiger has been sent off and Mortimer is one of the try scorers for the Bluebaggers.

      HT: Jets 20 - 6.

        Match summary
Newtown 36 [Daniel Mortimer 2, Jack Littlejohn, Adam Henry, Daniel Tupou, Brad Barrett, Samiu Latu tries; Mark Kheirallah 2, Daniel Mortimer 2 goals]
        Balmain Ryde-Eastwood 18 [3 tries, 3 goals]

        Half-time: Jets led 20-6.

Officials: Referee, David Munro; Touch judges, Brendan Wood, Nathan Smith.

Weather cold but sunny. Pitch well-grassed except in the area of North Sydney Oval's notoriously hard cricket pitch.

Balmain Ryde-Eastwood won back the Trevor Ryan-Neil Pringle Shield despite going down 36-18. Their 0-36 demolishing of the Newtown Jets in Round 8 meant the Jets had to win by 36 points or more to retain the shield they won in 2011.

However, Jets supporters enjoyed seeing their players finally turn in a good attacking and creditable defenfensive performance in this game - the fourth try bringing the crowd to their feet to acclaim sizzling passing back and forth and terrific support play that resulted in a try to Brad Barrett who has rejoined the Newtown playing roster after a season playing in the southwest of France.

The fifth was equally as exciting. Mose Masoe pushed hard up the middle and broke through to pass to Daniel Mortimer who ran 35 metres to score near the posts. Daniel's first half try was an individual effort - he jinked and wrong-footed the defence to score.

The first try was scored by the Jets prolific try-scorer, winger, Daniel Tupou. Quick passing at the line gave him a small opportunity and his strength did the rest. Clever work by the Newtown halves, Daniel Mortimer, Mark Kheirallah, and later, Jack Littlejohn, plus good support play gave Jack Littlejohn, Adam Henry and Samiu Latu the opportunity to complete attacking movements with a try.

The win improves Newtown chances for a top four finish but there is more to do.

        Keep it up, fellows!!!!
