WELL T6HIS IS THE TEAM AND THERE PLAYING THE LOWLEY MANDY TEAM.. 2 WIN TO THEM SO FAR THIS SEASON.

JETS SHOULD SLAUGHTER THEM BUT WHY KILLAH AT THE BACK AGAIN. LOST LAST TIME MATTERSON DID THIS.

PROBABLY PLAYING HIM LIKE A HAYNE STYLE PLAYER. A ROVING 5/8 FULLBACK. DOESNT REALLY MATCH KILLAH CENTRE FIELD STYL PLAY

Jets won 44 to 16, plenty of tries for the usual suspects. (Mortimer, Henry, Killer etc)

        Match summary
Newtown 44 [Adam Henry 2, Daniel Tupou 2, Mark Kheirallah, Francis Vaiotu, Daniel Mortimer, Jack Bosden, Saulala Houma tries; Mark Kheirallah 2, Jack Littlejohn 2 goals
Manly Sea Eagles 16 [3 tries, 2 goals]

        Half-time: Newtown led 22-6.

The clash with Manly represented a game that Newtown on paper was destined to win but such games have always proved to be danger games for our club.

Happily, in this 22nd round game at Brookvale, everything came together for the Jets: good passing, speedy backs, great support play, and fewer instances of the dropped ball and penalties that have marred recent performances.

In particular, Newtown's 7th, 8th and 9th tries can be put down to the speed of halfback, Daniel Mortimer, young hooker, Glenn Dumbrell and fullback, Mark Kheirallah.

Daniel Mortimer made a break from inside the Newtown half, put Daniel Tupou through a gap, then backed up Tupou to race away, side step the defence and score.
Glenn Dumbrell made a wonderful dash from about the Newtown 40 metre line to the opposition 20 metre line where he was stopped but not held by the Manly winger. His pace had left the Manly defence up field so he had time to get up, dash in field and find Adam Henry who raced in for the try.
The last try of the game was equally exciting. Mose Masoe broke through up the middle and got a wonderful little pass away to Mark Kheirallah just over halfway. Mark sped away, hotly pursued by Manly defenders but he was able to evade them long enough to dive over about 10 metres from touch. He then turned around and converted his try.
Winning is sweet and Newtown need both the win and the points that improve the health of their differential in a competition where several teams are vying for that important 4th place on the ladder.
