  • Classic example of David beating Goliath

    Brains > Brawn

We were out of the game from the 16th minute until half-time. We were down about to about 35% possession. At one stage we were 9% possession in the last 10 minutes. Repeatedly, Warriors started their set of 6 on their own 40 if not half way yet we defended for our lives. We only managed to leak 2 tries up to half time.

Second half where do i start? It was a tough arm-wrestle. Warriors making meters from simple hit-ups and us making meters from passing and moving their defenders around the park.

    What won us the game:

    Roosters:

    Kane Evans hit-ups and offloads
    RTS 3 try-savers + scored a try himself from dummy-half.
Taripo's tap back into the field of play. (Wouldn't have scored the try that made us go beyond a converted try in-front)
    Napa's offload.
    Ryley's kicking game.
    Structured attack/defense.

    Warriors.

    Poor kicking game.
    Poor discipline.
No real skill besides smashing it up in the middle. (10-15 meters each hit-up)

Although I do believe a lot of other teams would've struggled against the Warriors today. Maybe not in the first 15 minutes but for the rest of the game.
