Was just watching it... awesome spirited effort! I hope some of these guys are rewarded with regular 1st grade appearances next season.
Mortimer's become a real favourite.
To me this shows something's wrong with the 1st grade culture. It reminds me of high school footy. Our 1sts had all the whingers and show ponies (who always got smashed)... 2nds were more like a family, and were undefeated in my final year.
When the 1sts coach asked our coach "who are your best players? We need somebody to play up a grade..." he'd always lie and give the 1sts coach the names of all the w@nkers so that we didn't have to put up with them.
Wonder if a bit of that went on with the Chooks this year? Bwaiff comes to mind (no way he has more heart or ability than Mortimer over a full 80 minutes!!) All I've ever seen him do is argue with the refs and make silly mistakes that put us under pressure.
Mortein forever!!!! Why can Maloney just come in as a "marquee signing" and punt a guy who has won the NSW Cup for us?!?
