  • NYC Squad for 2013

Apparently there is a 34 player squad training for Toyota Cup next year

From what has been confirmed elsewhere so far it looks like the squad is made up of the following:

    2. Jack Siejka
    3. John Asiata
    4. Samisoni Langi
    5. Clarrie Moore
    6. Rhyse Martin
    7. Jack Noble
    8. Tuiala Togitasi
    9. Joseph Forrester
    10. Jason Antonelli
    11. Matt Baker
    12. Shaquille Blair
    13. Braeden Batiste

Players promoted from 2012 SG Ball squad
    14. Dallas Wells
    15. Nene Macdonald
    16. Brendan Elliott
    17. Alex Thomas
    18. Jack Johnson
    19. Daniel Smith
    20. Brendan Attwood
    21. Louis Meehan

Players who will start off in SG Ball but may move up
    22. Taane Milne
    23. Willis Meehan
    24. Perry Ioane
    25. Brad Deitz
    26. Delayne Ashby

    New Recruits
    27. Tyler Cornish (Canberra SG Ball)
    28. Mitch Mammary (Bulldogs SG Ball)
    29. Jokotama Dokonivalu (Bulldogs SG Ball)
    30. Jacob Maklouf (Penrith SG Ball)

    That leaves 4 unknown spots
    31. ??
    32. ??
    33. ??
    34. ??

Does anybody know who any of these 4 players are?

Does anybody know who any of these 6 players are? Hopefully one of them is a halfback as only Ashby from the above list is a half and it looks like he will be starting at least in SG Ball again.
Louis Meehan (eldest brother) is contracted for NYC.

Also, Joe Ofehengaue played SG Ball in 2012. Not sure if he's contracted next year and if he is, unsure about which grade he qualifies for.

Thanks Gman but Dummyhalfscoot was saying over on the main forum that Louis Meehan had been released and Ofehengaue would be playing for the Broncos next season. I find that surprising if true but he seemed to know what he was talking about.

There's a lot of the 20's moving on next year, will be interesting to see how many of them get contracts.

Evans & Napa the obvious ones to keep and already have long term contracts from what I understand but I still think we should persist with the likes of Henare Wells, Rokolati & O'sullivan.

They are both average from the times I have seen them & I cant see either of them being retained. I didn't sight the clubs best FB (in your opinion) due to injury till near the end of the year so he was a non event & the few times I have watched O'Sullivan he has done SFA just like the centre Forrester. Rona was the best young centre we had from the batch. He is better than Williamson Blair Moga Forrester & O Sullivan.

Still stand by that, entering the season Wells was comfortably the best fullback, Mini isn't even first grade standard anymore. Alofa would do a better job than him.

Not sure what you've seen but Wells is a great talent, biggest issue I see for him is filling into his body. He'd be my second choice after RTS for the fullback position and hopefully he's retained and plays fullback for the Jets.

our NYC side will be extremely ordinary until some of those SG Ball players move up after the completion of their competition.

RTS/Napa/Evans will leave a massive hole that won't likely be filled by next years crop.

Taylor will be a big loss too, really important we bring in a good coach with such a large turnover in players.

I trust POS will have a few surprises for us, I mean it was only RTS's first year in the 20's and he adapted pretty quickly. If the talent's there we'll go well.

Louis Meehan is contracted to the Roosters next season. This is fact.
I haven't seen him or his brother play but if their size and attitude count for anything, they could be very strong players.
Willis who is a centre has just turned 17 and is an absolute giant.

Jacob Maklouf has signed with the Roosters NYC as a hooker/halfback so add him as another of the 6 remaining spots.

Penrith's loss is Roosters gain, the kid can play.

Thanks RnB, Maklouf sounds like a handy pickup. That leaves only 4 mystery squad members to identify.
