The kid has been eased back into the team since suffering that confidence blow from the injury he suffered earlier in the season. Don't trust NRLStats, they have confused Dane and Boyd Cordner on a fair few occasions, these are the properly organised stats.
Before injury (all at second row or lock):
5 games, 1 try, 2 linebreaks, 2 linebreak assists, 1 try assist, average 14 runs for 123 metres, average 28 tackles for 2 missed, 5 offloads, 10 tackle breaks
After injury (all on bench, bar one game at five-eighth):
6 games, 0 tries, 0 linebreaks, 0 linebreak assists, 0 try assists, average 5 runs for 45 metres, average 14 tackles for 2.5 missed, 4 offloads, 6 tackle breaks
As you can see, there is an obvious drop-off in his figures since returning from injury. But remember, the kid is 17, those stats before his injury are far better than any other backrower in the NYC, and he is the youngest in the competition. I sincerely hope he finds his top form again, the kid is a huge talent.
