  • Tyler Cornish improving?

I remember everyone saying he was extremely crap about a month or so ago. He seems to be destroying it now.

This is what the Round 11 Holden cup preview against the Storm says:

Tyler Cornish, Roosters halfback, is the only thing likely standing between Melbourne and consecutive wins.
The No.7 again proved himself as brilliant with a display that single-handedly won the Roosters a 24-14 victory over the Cowboys.

Cornish scored two tries, made 21 tackles, four tackle-breaks and a line-break in the win and provided magical ball to his outside backs. Four of the Roosters’ back five were able to run for more than 100 metres, winger Brendan Elliot the pick of the bunch with a try and 163 metres.

Cornish alone would likely provide greater resistance that Melbourne’s most recent opponents.

I will put my hand up and say after the 1st two games I sawthe 20s 1/2 back playing those being Souths and Broncos I thought he was shite and Langi was carrying him Since then t the whole team seem to have gotten into a groove of the system the coach has them playing They have all improved

He took awhile to settle in, being a country kid, I seen his first trial game against Manly at Gosford, and seen some touches there, that made me feel the kid had a future, Canberra didn't want to release him, but they were in a predicament of having too many young halves in the club, and Tyler being the youngest drew the short straw. Iám sure with patience and maturity, this kid will blossom into a very good player, like many halves that have come out of that part of the country.

Thats utter rubbish. They didn't rate him and wished him the best for getting a deal with us.

Headless chook, you are well named, and must have two dicks, ya cant be that stupid, only playing with one. Of course Mitch Cornish was rated higher, older and more experienced, it was because of the surplus of halves, and his tender age , he was let go, not because he wasent any good.

I never mentioned Mitch Cornish, I just said that they didn't rate him at all. They reckoned his attitude wasn't there and that he was very poor defensively, hence they didn't care that he signed with us particularly given the money he was offered.

I often don't watch the game from ground level and head on but did at kogarah and was very impressed with
Tyler talk, his passing game and he made some very good reads of the defensive line. He is developing into a very good half back

So far, Peter O'Sullivan has given me no reason not to trust him. I am sure that this kid has definitely got something otherwise he wouldnt be our halfback.

Cornish is relishing at the Roosters, Nene has also been most impressive.
