I haven't seen a Jets game, but for those that do follow, just noticed a Tweet from Newtown mentioning O'Sullivan has been released.

I thought Kane was out for 8 - 12 weeks, 2 - 3 games is fantastic for the young bloke, great news, oh & see you round Usaia!

Mate the one eyed league freaks will tear you a new one. They believe league is the greatest game of all, bar none.
Union is a much superior game IMO, in all aspects.
And Aussie Rules, (yes Aussie Rules, not AFL) is superior than both league and union, IMO, IMO, IMO.

and yes, I have played all three types of football.

IMO RU (most games) & Aussie Rules or AFL are an abomination to watch on TV, I tuned into the Swans last night after the Vermin game & it was a knock-on fest, unbearable IMO! Oh & if you go to a game of RU, if anyone can say hand on heart that they know what the @#%k is going on, they are lying, IMO & I played Yawnion!!!

ok i asked for it, but as ive played fg in both codes i think i can call it as i found it? ive never played afl though just kicked a ball around at high school. i did play soccer anbd found the skill levels beyond me, i prefer tackling with my shoulders and driving with my legs.

AFL is a very entertaining game, much better spectacle live.

Union will never be a strong sport in Australia just because other sports are more entertaining to watch. Even Soccer have overtaken it now.

Anyway someone has offered me seats to Lion's test next week, my first live Rugby game in a while so I'll see how it goes.

Some of us appreciate the skills all the football codes offer but find some or most of them boring to watch.

I can sit thru and enjoy an NFL game but won't watch soccer or gAyFL. Yawnion I watched that test the other night and enjoyed it almost. Good quality Yawnion I find enjoyable to watch when I'm bored.

Doesn't mean I dislike the other codes I just have zero interest in them and find them boring to watch.

Sport is entertainment afterall. Everyone has their preferences on what entertains them.

I find most people have their base sport, what they grew up playing and watching.

RL and Easts chose me.

Technical? Yes definitely, but I don't think its the intricacies of the game that turn off league fans. It has more to do with the lack of ball movement,or general excitement that does them in. The first Lions test was a good game, but even then, I switched over to the league and saw more footy in 15 minutes than I did in 40mins of rugby. Saturday night's abomination where the Lions attacked the 20m line with gusto then waited for a penalty is the exact reason why Folau will now be thinking about coming back to league. The thing that annoys me is that rugby aficianado's such as yourself always have that snide comment that the game is too technical which is another way of insinuating that rugby is a 'smarter' game whenever a 'mungo' bags their game.

Rugby played well is a great game to watch. Like you I have played both. As an outside back I couldn't wait to get back to league so I could do more than admire the kicking style of my fly half.

Union as it is meant to be played is a great game to play and watch.
Unfortunately it hasn't been played properly for quite some time at a professional level.

The British Lions (apart from the last test) are getting closer and are bringing back the running game.
So too are the Waratahs and Randwick.

Rule Changes through the 00s and piss poor coaching have really had a big effect on the game and the players, so much so that the skill set of the RU has eroded so much that it is going to take a while for the typical Australian Super 15 / Wallaby player to be able to draw and pass correctly.

Another factor that has stuffed RU up (infact its stuff most sports up incl RL) is the "professionalism" and the money. Not saying players should not be paid but goals need to be realigned from "$"s to results and representative honours need to be valued again.
