  • Ben Jones Going to Parramatta

The Parramatta Eels are poised to make another signing in the coming days – former Sydney Roosters, North Queensland Cowboys and Indigenous All Stars utility Ben Jones.

Still only 23, Jones will be attempting to kick-start his career after spending much of 2013 with the Roosters’ feeder club in the NSW Cup, Newtown. But there is no doubting his talent and versatility – he can play most backline spots as well as hooker – and will be a handy signing for the Eels.

With few experienced players left on the open market, the Eels believe Jones can push for a regular first grade spot and his ability to fill in all over the park makes him an ideal bench player.

One of the funniest things i've seen in footy was Jones running around in the Indigenous side..

The big problem with having him in your squad is that you need to employ some one to run around with him, shading him with an umbrella, during day games..

He was injured a lot last year too. I remember he got injured once at Henson when he passed the ball to Henare Wells who went on to score a try.
